Atlanta, GA (ATL) - Washington Dulles (IAD)Coming soon
Welcome to DCA! Today we are traveling to Peru, so will be reporting most segments of the trip.
This was my second time traveling to Peru, but first time traveling to Cuzco.
Our route was DCA-ATL-LIM-CUZ-LIM-ATL-IAD. We purchased a round trip ticket from DC to LIM and a separate round trip for LIM-CUZ.
departure
DCA was empty and so it was the Delta check-in desk.
SkyPriority check-in thanks to our Delta Platinum status
We kindly asked the check-in agent if he was able to tag the bags all the way to CUZ, even though it was necessary to claim it at LIM and drop it after customs. It only took him to find our connecting flight in his system and in less than a minute he had the tags printed all the way to CUZ.
Checked bag handed for security check. DCA is one of the few airports where you still have to bring your our bags for security screening after check-in.
On the way to the south security checkpoint
I love the new security checkpoint area, definitely a significant improvement.
Very small wait, we did use CLEAR. Once we cleared security, we proceeded to the National hall and then concourse B.
The upcoming Centurion Lounge.
Quick stop at the Delta SkyClub
As always, a good mix of hot and cold items.
The bar
Headed to Gate 21 for boarding
flight
Boarding called by zones, very well organized
The Esteban moment…
We got upgraded to Comfort+ at the time of booking. Zero seats available in First Class. The pitch was very good as usual
IFE and console
Pushback on time
One last sight of DC before takeoff
Southbound takeoff with a nice view of National Harbor
Right after takeoff, drinks and snacks were served. I really like the already mixed Old Fashioned so ordered one.
After not too long in cruise altitude, started our initial descent to ATL
Landing
Quick taxi to Concourse B
arrival
Arrived at Gate B11
This flight was feeding plenty of connecting flights.
On our way to the plane train that took us to the International Terminal - Concourse F.
Plane train
Escalators up to Terminal F

Conclusion
Usual Delta Comfort+ service. DCA was empty so there was very little wait at check-in and security. The SkyClub is always a great idea at DCA, it was not crowded at all and had a good choice of dinner and cold cuts, as well as drinks. Overall, a very good flight.
