On my last report, I left you at Midway, I'll take you back to MDW ;)
After a few day in that beautiful city (bonus at the end of the report), it is now time to leave Chicago. Back to serious things, flying First Class and leave the tropical temperature of -4F to the real cold, -36F at Fairbanks, AK.
As for my last flight out of MDW, I took the orange line, and arrived at the check in aera, very quiet that morning. I'll receive my three BP's up to FAI.
I'll be selected for TSA-pre, 2 minutes will be needed to pass it. No need to remove shoes, liquids or laptop. Looked like pre-9/11 :(
A bit of spotting at Concourse A:
Some planes:
E175-Compas bound to MSP:
CRJ-200 bound to DTW:
The E175 leaves:
A320 for Atlanta (the same flight I took a few days before):
717 Air Tran :
A320 leaving:
And my E170, Shuttle America that is arriving. It has no color, pretty unusual for the US, in the fleet for a while, though.
The boarding will be a few minutes late as the flight did land late. But as the plane not full is, the 10 minutes delay will be compensated by a very fast boarding:
Very roomy First Class cabin aboard this Embraer:
Water bottle tray: (in and out!)
That's the fwd galley and the flight deck with a very nice and classy bin:
My BFF:
Very fast take off and view of Chicago'suburbs:
As the flight lasts less than 2H00, only the snack basket is served. Junk food but good :)
Bac'coke, what else… Never change a winning team.
E170 fwd loo:
Galley and fwd door:
Coach, not for me today, please:
PSU:
Some aerial shoots and descending to MSP:
Snow here as well, and a bit of spotting:
As promised at the beginning of this report, here a Chicago sightseeing bonus.
Up from the Willis Tower (ex-Sears Tower)
The 'L' of Chicago and a beautiful station, Quincy, next to my hotel:
Downtown from the Museum Campus Park, a beautiful day with only -4F:
Jellyfishes from the Chicago Aquarium:
Same Downtown, some days later, with the Michigan lake, almost completly frozen:
It's snowing and this is how Chicago'citizen use their time:
John Hancock Tower & Observatory : Taller than the Willis Tower, but the view is much better:

Conclusion
As always, an on time flight, a bit of delay on departure, but an early arrival. First cabin is very cosy, the crew was nice, but not more than nice. Could have been warmer. Catering was on the light side, but the sky basket did pass through the cabin at least half a dozen of time during the flight!
