SHORT review of cx451 from tpe to hkg
Background
I left my workplace and headed straight to the airport. I would be spending my Christmas in Europe: Paris and Italy that is.
As the traffic on Fridays tend to be the worst, I left the office early enough to reach the airport in time to check in my baggage and pass the security customs. There weren't much travellers at that time, so everything went really smoothly.
A nearly empty Departure Hall.
Killing time at the Plaza Premium Lounge
As mentioned previously, I had one whole hour to kill, so I went to the Plaza Premium lounge to finish up the remainder of my work and to chill out before the boarding time.
The little "capsule" seats offered good privacy, so I picked one of these seat. The food is quite tasty too.
Boarding
My flight is well on time, so I went to the boarding gate, which is B6.
Not many people onboard this flight!
The Flight
My ride for the night: A B777-300.
Boarding was quick, and my seat is 54C, an aisle seat with extra legroom.
My seat.
Nearly empty flight!
Dinner: chicken, rice, and boiled cabbage. Delicious!
Arrival at HKG
A good two hours passed, and we reached Hong Kong on time!
Nice flight! CX does run 565 10 mins before 451 with a 359, so its not hard to understand why 451 is always empty...
On the other hand the NRT to TPE leg has pretty good load factors and are quite popular among the Taiwanese!
Once again very good service with CX on such a short, but very important route. I believe this is one of the routes with the most air traffic in the world, so having a product that stands out from the competition is important. The only regrettable thing is that CX went down the 3-4-3 config route on 777s, but can't blame them as everyone else has done it, with few exceptions.
Thanks for sharing!
