Hi,
Being on transit that early morning I quickly made my way to the Thai Royal Orchid Lounge on the center concourse.

The lounge is huge and was still very empty as it was very early - but it filled up quickly during the next 1 - 2 hours.

The lounge might not be equipped with the newest interior but it provides a relaxed and cozy atmosphere with many private corners and nice greenish walls.

Several buffet areas offered warm and cold breakfast dishes - being of medium quality in my opinion.

There is also is a nice bar with barista style coffee service.

First I went to the shower area and had a refreshing break in this nice private shower room:

Then I had a small breakfast.

My boarding gate was not far - having a look at this Boeing 777 bringing me to Sydney.

Boarding started on time and in a well organized way with a clearly marked priority lane.
A very friendly crew was waiting at the entrance door and I turned into the nice Business Class front cabin.

The cabin might not be the newest product at all - but all was good in shape and provided a very warm and cozy atmosphere.

My window seat:

Waiting on the seat several pillows, a blanket, slippers and an amenity kit.

The amenity kit with nice design and a very good content.

Also waiting at the seat were noise cancelling headsets.

Plus the menu and drinks list for this flight to Australia.

Breakfast would be served first followed by an elaborate dinner served towards the end of the flight.

The only disturbing thing about this seat were the missing stowage areas - actually nothing like this really existed apart from a very small corner next to the seat.

Quickly the cabin crew served welcome drinks and nice hot towels.

Soon a very friendly female flight attendant approached me, kneed down, introduced herself, mentioned the flight time, the location of all lavatories and took my meal orders - a very nice and personal welcome.
A safety video was played and we pushed back on time next to a Singapore Airlines A350.

Taxiing out to the runway.

Departing from Bangkok for our flight to Sydney taking 9 hours 15 minutes today.

Some nice views of the Thai landscape climbing to cruising altitude.

Navigating through some thick clouds.

Some more cabin views:

Service started with breakfast drinks first.

Next breakfast was served - where I had the tasty Pad Thai dish.

More drink refills were offered.
Followed by another hot towel to finish the meal service.

After the meal service I watched a movie and tried to get some sleep - the bed being rather comfortable although the seat product is not the most recent model.
About 3 hours out of Sydney the cabin lights were turned on again and dinner service started with a hot towel.

First I had some champagne for the aperitif. Served with nuts and some ok amouse bouche (not my favorite one actually).

Next the starter was served with warm bread and more drinks. The scallop unfortunately was very hard and chewy.

Followed by the Thai beef main dish I had ordered.

Skipping the cheese course and finishing with a very sweet peanut chocolate kind of dessert.

I also had some tea to finish.
All in all I actually was rather disappointed by the whole dinner taste wise: It all tasted rather boring and I thought Thai would offer better tasting dishes on flights leaving their home base Bangkok.
Sunset had approached and we started our descend into Sydney where we landed perfectly on time.
Thanks for reading,
FlyAlex
Interesting report about the Thai 777. I tend to like the food which TG offers but the menu on your flight didn't look too appeitizing. I agree the cabin on TG isn't the most modern but is quite cozy.
While now as new as the A350 cabin, these seats as still quite nice and offer all the essentials of being full flat with aisle access.
The catering is very well presented once again.
Oh haha looks like we were in Australia at the same time. I also arrived in the 24th but in the morning.
Thanks for sharing!
Funny to hear that you have arrived to Australia the same day :) Thanks for your feedback on my report.
