This is a short flight from Hong Kong to Taipei and i decided to fly with EVA Air.
It is a less than hour and half flight, in average every two hours there will be a flight DEP/ARR in HKG/TPE.
In 2010, the plane is still belongs to Continental airlines
The plane for today's flight 852, B-16408, Boeing 747-45E(M)
There are three classes of service: Business, Evergreen Deluxe, and Economy. However on a short haul flight, BR didn't offer Evergreen Deluxe class. Therefore passengers on Economy can sit in the Evergreen Deluxe cabin; First come first serve bases.
38 seat pitch was comfort, the seat product was old and BR will no longer use their 74M on long haul flights; 77W and 744 replaced the 74M.
Just about an hour and fifteen minute flight today, BR are meant to offer hot meals.
After landing, EVA MD-11 CARGO
Additionally, there is an aviation museum nearby TPE airport, worth to go and visit.
Thanks for sharing this FR
These seats look very old
Good catering for a such short flight time
MAny thanks for this report, nice spotting on departure, awesome catering for such a short hop and decent seats albeit on the older side.
These widebody short haul HKG-TPE flights are somewhat of an oddity, with hot meals and a very decent confort, but also (alas) rather stiff prices for the distance. Thanks for this archive FR !
Thanks for sharing this detailed report full of great pictures.
I sometimes think that BR is in need of an image consultant like Landor Associates to update their logo, uniforms and cabins. Personally I find the combination of some colors, especially orange with green to be very off putting. The FA's former uniforms come to mind with those bow ties in orange trims. As an Asian, I understand the significance that colors play in a cultural context, but when you are an international player I think that your image needs to be a bit more global and refined in its perspective.
Thanks for this FR. For a European, such a short flight on a wide body and with a hot meal is really not common!
