check in and security
I arrived at Heathrow Terminal 2 at around 5:20 am, about 2 hours ahead of my scheduled departure time of 7:25 am. Terminal 2 is where all Star alliance carriers operate from out of Heathrow, so naturally, this is where Lufthansa flies out of.

The check in hall of T2 is huge. Be sure to check the departure board to see where you should check in. Lufthansa is located in Zone B, there is an economy class check in, and a business class and star alliance gold full service check in.
The reason I arrived so early to Heathrow was because for some reason Lufthansa didn’t issue my boarding passes online when I checked in for my onward United flights, so I wanted to get an agent to check on this for me.
The check in agent was extremely friendly and was able to print all of my boarding passes within seconds. She also told me that I would be able to use the gold track security lane and even told me where I would be able to find the Lufthansa lounge.
I proceeded through security, which took a matter of minutes with the very few people in the terminal at this time of the morning, and I proceeded to the Lufthansa lounge.
the lounge: lufthansa senator lounge lhr
I’ve reviewed the Lufthansa Senator Lounge in the past, and won’t be reviewing it again here. You can check out my previous review of the lounge here: https://flight-report.com/en/report/65600/lufthansa-lh907-london-lhr-frankfurt-fra/
boarding
I left the lounge at around 6:45, and proceeded to gate A25, which was about a 5 minute walk from the lounge.
Boarding began early. As I was walking down the concourse to the gate, I heard an announcement for the boarding of Group 1 for our flight o Munich. When I arrived at the gate, they were still calling for group 1. Business class and Star alliance gold members board in group 2 on Lufthansa, so I boarded with that group.
cabin and seat
I wasn’t able to get any pictures of the cabin or seat as there were already several people on board by the time I got on board. Lufthansa’s business class on the A320 is the same as economy class, in a 3-3 configuration with the exact same seats as economy. The only difference in business class is that the middle seat cannot be booked. So for example, my seat was 2F on this flight and my seatmate is in 2D. 2E in the middle is empty and would remain that way for the entire flight.

The overhead bins were quite full already, so I put my large carry on in the overhead bin across from my seat, 2F, and put my backpack underneath the seat in front of me.
The pitch was quite good to be honest. I was very impressed with how much room I had. The seat features two windows, individual air vents, and a reading light. There is no in seat power outlet, so I recommend charging before you board or bringing a power bank with you.

pre-departure
Once I took my seat, I realized that the cabin was very cold. I mean it was like being in a meat locker. I would’ve taken off my jacket and hung it on the coat hook at the seat, but it was just so cold.
At 7:15, an announcement was made that boarding was completed.
At 7:18, the captain came on to welcome us onboard. He let us know that he expects that we will arrive in Munich right on time, but that we will have some strong winds on the approach into Munich so we might have som turbulence on our approach.
At 7:23, the safety demonstration began in both German and English. We also started our pushback at this time.
flight
Upon our pushback, I noticed this Air Canada 737 MAX at a neighboring gate, and had to wonder where that would be flying to from London. Turns out, it flies this aircraft between LHR and Halifax!

At 7:34, we were rolling down runway 9R for our departure.

At 7:38, we reached 10,000 feet.
At 7:57, the beverage service began. I went with a cup of coffee, which was served in a real ceramic cup.

Shortly thereafter, at 8:00, the meal was served. The cold cuts and cheese were fresh and the bread was warm. The yogurt was also quite tasty. Overall, it was good.

At 8:14, I finished my meal and the flight attendant came by to take my tray and asked me if she could get me more in coffee or some water. I took her up on that offer!
descent and arrival
At 9:35 local time in Munich (which is one hour ahead of London), we began our descent.

We touched down on runway 8L at 9:58 am.

We parked at a remote stand a few minutes ahead of schedule, and had to take a bus to the main terminal. Because I was connecting onward to the U.S., I didn’t have to go through passport control and was on my way very quickly.
