Check in and security
Hello from RDU terminal 2! I've already checked in via the American app.

Security cleared, let's head to the gate!

Heading to Washingto! Jokes aside, here's gate C18, where our CRJ-900 will depart from.

Here's my ride for today, N549NN, a CRJ-900 NextGen delivered new to PSA/American Eagle in June 2014, and it has stayed with the two airlines since.

Boarding
Alright, time to board!

American Eagle's CRJ-900s have 12 Zodiac/Safran Close Comfort II (another name for the 6810?) seats (not pictured) in domestic first class, while the economy section uses the B/E Spectrum seats. My seat for today is 11A, in Main Cabin Extra. Despite the good legroom, these seats are very narrow and uncomfortable. I prefer the E175s over these.

Seatback contents are usual: a safety card, an entertainment guide, and a sick bag.

Departure
Pushing back.

Departing from RDU's runway 23R today.

In-flight
Well, there isn't any service, so let's look at the WiFi and entertainment! This CRJ is equipped with BYOD entertainment, like most AA domestic aircraft. WiFi is paid, unless if you're a T-Mobile US customer. I'm not sure if this CRJ even has live TV.

Movie selection wasn't bad, although for how long this flight is, it's probably unnecessary.

Since I'm a T-Mobile customer, I got a 1 hour pass, so I used it to check the plane's location on FlightRadar. The WiFi was a bit slow, though.

Also, is it me, or does American's carpet remind me of Tetris?

A breathtaking arrival!
Let these pictures speak for themselves.

And, welcome to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport!

One last photo of the CRJ-900.

Welcome to the relatively new Reagan concourse, and that's it!

Totally agree about the tightness of seats on the CR7/9, though slightly better than the CR2. I much prefer to fly on an E-jet, if I'm in the back anyway. It's great that AA have Streaming IFE on the RJs to get your mind of the discomfort haha. DL weirdly quietly discontinued Streaming IFE on RJs last year, so this is actually a point where AA does better than DL, which is extremely rare, haha.
Nothing beats the River approach into DCA. I lived in DC for many many years and have done it hundreds of times and it's just as breathtakingly beautiful every time.
Thanks for sharing!
