The Trip to Perth
2 days after I just went home from Tokyo, my dad and I went on another trip to Perth. The goal was to survey the universities in the city and help find out how to apply there as an international student. The trip to Perth would be on AirAsia, with the routing of CGK-KUL then a connecting flight to PER on AirAsia X.
At CGK

We arrived at Terminal 2F. After Terminal 3 opened, the original international Terminal 2D and 2E became domestic, while 2F was converted to international, but only for LCCs.

The pre-security interior hasn't changed much

After going through security, we end up at the international check in. The turqoise desks indicate that this was once Garuda's domestic terminal.

The flights that morning, with our flight that day, QZ200 at the very top

Many shops that morning were still closed
At the gate

Terminal 1 and 2 gates are seperated in these small boxes with this cool chandelier thing inside

Terminal 2F also had a bit of a renovation, where they added this hallway that connects all the gates
Boarding

Soon it was time to board the plane

Outside, I spot 2 LionAir 737s and one AirAsia A320 in a special Lombok livery

My plane for that day was to be an A320-200

Inside the plane

AirAsia seats were in a red and black pattern

This was my seat, 19F

Hmm, this plane is in dire need for repairs
Pushback and Take-Off

After pushback we taxied out for take off from Runway 07L/25R

And take-off
Cruising

Minutes after take-off, I went to take a small nap and woke up to a very cloudy view

Descent and Landing

About a couple hours later, we began our descent towards KUL

Far away, I could spot a Malaysia Airlines 737 landing from Bengaluru

Taxiing to KLIA 2

Lots of AirAsia planes here

Last view of my plane
I've enjoyed the few flights I've done on AirAsia. I agree that the seats are comfortable, especially since the cushioning is nice and thick, which is a nice change from the hard ironing board slimline seats on most LCCs. The problem is that the thickness of the seats makes the legroom tight for anyone over 1m75, but I guess that's what the Hot Seats are for. I also really like the pre-order hot meals on AirAsia. Will be interesting to see the experience on the AirAsia X sector.
