INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone
After attending the first part of the State exam last July I was admitted to the second part on the 19th September
For this reason I book flights from Bergamo (where I live for work) to Pescara
Having already covered this route I decided to make this shorter report
The "obliged" choice is Ryanair from BGY
In order to have enough time get there I book the same flights of the first part
Considering I needed to get the cabin baggage too I chose the "Basic" fare with additional luggage, brining the total to 80 euros

ROUTING

FR3508 - Economy - Bergamo → Pescara - Boeing 737-800
FR3509 - Economy - Pescara → Bergamo - Boeing 737
THE FLIGHT
With the flight departing at 23.00 I decided to be at the airport at 21.00
This would give me enough time to have dinner
I asked a friend to bring me to BGY and he picked me up at 20.20
At 20.50 he left me at Bergamo "Il Caravaggio" Airport

The check-in hall was not busy
I made my way straight to the inspection area

Even if half of the lanes were opened I cleared security in less than 10 minutes
BGY airside looks very good and offers a plenty of shops and food options

My flight was reported to be on-time
Gate A1 for me

After getting dinner at McDonald's I strolled around the departure area
The airport was not crowded as it was in summer days
Around 22.00 all shops and restaurents shut their doors

My plane previous flight was PSR-BGY
It touched down at 22.14
Minutes after boarding operations started
Our bird for tonight
Malta Air Boeing 737-800, 9H-QBH
Delivered to Ryanair in September '15 (9.0 years ago) and now part of Malta Air fleet

Back door for me

The plane seemed almost 100% full
Views from my seat, 20B, as boarding was coming to the end

Boarding was called "completed" at 22.40
We left the stand minutes later
The captain announced a light turbolence mid-flight, between Parma and Bologna

Waiting for our take-off turn I spotted a Maersk Cargo 767 departing to Cologne
I wasn't able to get a decent pic unfortunately
At 22.56 we started our take off run on RWY28

Immediately after leaving the ground the plane got enveloped by clouds
Later on the food and duty free service started

Halfway in the flight the captain made a funny announccement
He wished happy birthday to a guy sitting in the cabin
Everyone clapped their hands
Meanwhile I spent my time napping
40 minutes into the flight descent was announced

Descending to PSR we encountered a light turbolence
It was pretty short actually

At 23.53, 15 minutes before scheduled, we touched down at Pescara International Airport
Landing was smoother than average Ryanair-style XD
We reached the stand in no time and disembark started almost immediately

Outside the airport I met my parents and in 15 minutes we arrived at my house-by-the-sea
Stay tuned for the return
I didn't know that Boeing made 737s without the Sky Interior into 2015! I enjoyed your FR!
Side note: I heard that non-BSI 737s were produced into 2017!
I was thinking the same, I thought BSI were introduced more before
Thank you!
Hi Carlo, thanks for another good report. It's nice how there's so much service on different carriers within Italy. I assume it keeps prices low. It seems that comparatively, there's more domestic air service in Italy than France despite having a smaller population...I support it has something to do with the geography and less high speed rail service.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
I totally agree, unfortunately train services from Northern Italy to the eastern coast can be quite slow
I've take the train from Milan to Pescara last summer and the fastest service takes 5 hours more or less
They can be comfortable if you have many days to spend, but for a weekend is unbearable
Stay tuned for the return and wish you the best :)
