Hello everyone, welcome to trip report on Swiss Airlines from Zurich to Valencia!
Arriving at the airport
My brother and I traveled to Valencia for few days of autmun holidays. We flew night beafore from Belgrade to Zurich (I already made that trip report, you can find it on my profile), and had overnight in Ibis Budget hotel, before continuing on our next flight that will take us to Spain.
As our flight was departing at 6.55am, we left our hotel at 4.30 and took first tram of the day for 2 stops to reach the airport.
Zurich Airport
We arrived at the airport around 2 hours beafore the flight. When arriving with tram, before you enter terminal building, you pass through some sort of shopping mall.
As we already had checked-in online, amd had only hand luggage, we went directly to security, and passed it very quickly, after which we had to pass through duty-free.
Zurich airport is very modern and spacious. Even though it was 5 o’clock in the morning, it was a nice feeling inside the airport. The restaurant after duty free was full, and classical music was played on low volume. After our gate was announced, we proceeded to it. We stopped at Starbucks to grab some coffee, needed for this early morning.
Our plane was waiting for us. Swiss Airlines A320-200. We waited for some time beafore boarding started. And then we boarded via jetbridge.
Onboard
I settled into my seat for today 11A, which is emergency exit seat, which includes extra legroom. Thing is that I got this seat randomly allocated during check in, so I didn’t pay extra for seat reservation. Seems like I got jackpot.
Boarding was completed. We had very low load factor with around 30%. At first I sat in 12A, another emergency exit row, next to my brother, but FA relocated me one row front, so that emergency exit row isn’t empty. Legroom is amazing in this row.
Captain came out of cockpit and standing in the aisle welcomed us onboard, and announced flight time of one hour and fourty five minutes in German and English language. After that safety video was played from overhead tv.
Very lovely and communicative flight attendant explained me what to do in case of emergency and instructed us how to open emergency exit in case if it’s needed. Shortly after, we pushed back, and started taxing towards the runway. It was foggy morning in Zurich.
Take off
We took-off from runway 28, and few moments after take off, we already broke through clouds, and had clear sky around us. Lights in the cabin stayed on during take off, which seemed little bit odd to me, as I got used that crew will dim lights during this phase of the flight.
Inflight
We had some light turbulences during the flight. I love that tv screens showed some information about the flight and route map. Also it showed some interesting information about the cities we overflew.
Service consisted of water bottle and swiss chocolate. Very basic and minimalistic service. Buy on board was avalabile. I posted photo of menu and prices in previous trip report on Belgrade-Zurich flight.
Landing
After some time we commenced our decent above Mediteranean sea, and we flew paralel with the Spanish coast, that offered us some very nice views. We touched down few minutes beafore our scheduled arrival time. And parked at jetbrige gate. Sorry for low quality of window photos, but unfortunatly window was very foggy.
Valencia Airport has amazing windows next to doors of the plane in the jetbridge, so I took this beautifull photo of our A320-200 that took us to Valencia.
Valencia Airport
We deboarded and needed roughly 2-3 minutes to leave airport building. We gou ourselves Valencia Tourist Cards that allowed us to have free public transportation and some other perks in the city, and we took bus to the city center as metro was not in operation due to flooding that happened in Valencia surroundings few weeks beafore.
Touristic bonus
Valencia is very beautifull city and I enjoyed in 4 days I had spent here. There is plenty of things to see and do. Historic city center is beautifull and photogenic. While City of Arts and Sciences is trully unique experience.
