Tunis Airport Experience
The very sad point of flying Saudia cheap business class is that the fare starts in TUN instead of the previous ATH. Not only is getting to TUN complicated, but it is also extremely painful. The airport is a disaster from the point of entry as an arrival passenger by plane or car.
No lines, rude people go by each other with no respect. When we finally got to the check-in desk, they told us it was only for the economy and that we should to go to another desk, which was not stated on the screens. Nice.
Security and passport control are also a disaster: insulting and incompetent staff, long waiting times…disaster at all. Third world, they don`t know we are in the 21st century already.
The lounge also nothing to talk about. At least thy have working wifi which is impossible to get anywhere else at the airport. I will mention only one thing - go to the bathrooms, and you will want to wait to get on the plane and go to the toilet there.
The airport says goodbye to you with a nice touch - upon entering the aircraft from a jet bridge, there was additional security screening of luggage provided by the Saudia crew. Well, they trust this shitty airport a lot it seems…

On Board
Saudia has in their A330 several configurations, mostly old. There is a plan to retrofit all these planes as of next year with new cabins consisting of suites with sliding doors. Right now, if you are lucky, like we were, you will get the A330-300 with just five rows of business class, which means the seats are fully flat. Those aeroplanes with six rows have just reclining seats but are still comfortable for a few hours ride.

We were welcomed by lovely crew who offered us the welcome drink - we always went for the antioxidant smoothie which we loved! I really do not miss alcohol in the air (nor on the ground). Warm nuts came with it.
Also, a traditional arabic non-coffee coffee was served in the traditional way accompanied by delicious dates. What a start!

The menu was handed out and the orders were taken.

The meal was very good, unfortunately, as seated in row 4, they ran out of the Arabic option, which I regret. But still a pleasant meal service.

We arrived at a stand at the domestic part of terminal so our disembarking was unfortunatelly made by stairs followed by a long bus ride.
