Primeclass Lounge
It will not be an overstatement if I say that the Primeclass Lounge at Muscat International Airport is one of the best lounges in the Middle East. It’s not just spacious; it’s thoughtfully designed to ensure that finding a seat is never a struggle.
The lounge is massive, with food served at three different locations—one main buffet area and two additional serving spots. You’ll also find two dedicated stations for hot drinks and beverages. If you’re in the mood for something special, the baristas are happy to make you a fresh cup of coffee or tea.
The lounge offers a children’s play area, a quiet room for relaxation, massage and spa services, a smoking room, and even private rooms that are free of charge. Arriving at 1 AM, I found the lounge comfortably empty and was lucky enough to snag a private room. Without it, my nine-hour layover would have been far more challenging. I slept for a couple of hours and follwed it with a shower.
The food selection here is nothing short of generous. The dinner menu included a wide variety of options—everything from assorted samosas and spring rolls to labneh, baba ghanoush, hummus, tabbouleh, and fresh salads. There were different types of sandwiches, chicken and beef mortadellas, an array of bread, rice, vegetable masala, butter chicken, white sauce pasta, grilled fish, and grilled beef. Desserts and fresh fruits rounded off the meal perfectly.
Breakfast was just as good. The spread featured boiled eggs, chana masala, Arabic foul, and chicken hotdogs, along with the usual Arabic appetizers like cucumber and tomato salad, baba ghanoush, labneh, and tabbouleh. The highlight of the breakfast, though, was the live cooking station, where they prepared fried eggs with whatever ingredients you requested—fresh and just the way you like it.
The Primeclass Lounge at Muscat Airport goes beyond expectations with its space, services, and food offerings. If you ever find yourself with a long layover here, this lounge is an absolute lifesaver.

Majan Lounge
Majan Lounge is located right above Primeclass Lounge, offering a much quieter and more secluded atmosphere. The breakfast food selection was nearly identical to that of Primeclass, but Majan traded live cooking stations for flavorful beef sandwiches and perfectly brewed karak tea.
The real centerpiece of Majan Lounge is its serene water-flowing pool. It is smaller than it appears in photos, but it adds a calming touch to the lounge's ambiance. If you’re after a peaceful spot to unwind and enjoy some quiet time, Majan Lounge is a solid choice.

MCT to DAC Trip
Muscat Airport is a beautiful and well-designed airport, relatively small but thoughtfully laid out. My gate was B10, and what stood out to me was the convenience of having restrooms inside the boarding waiting halls. The carpeted waiting areas added a nice touch of comfort. The flight was on a 737 MAX operated by Oman Air with Ascend Airways pilots. We departed on time, and I was lucky to be assigned an emergency exit seat with extra legroom—and no neighboring passengers. Although there was no in-flight entertainment, I didn’t mind since I felt sleepy anyway. After reaching cruising altitude, the crew served breakfast, which consisted of scrambled eggs, a little hummus, chickpeas, a hotdog, fruit slices, and a glass of 7UP. It was delicious. I slept for about two hours afterward. Before landing in Dhaka, the pilot had to make two holding patterns, keeping us in the air a bit longer before finally descending.
