Scoot Airlines A320, Economy - Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Hi,
I am sharing my experience flying Scoot Airlines in this Trip report.
Scoot Airlines is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines Group & Low cost carrier.
In this video I am flying from Singapore Changi International Airport to Vietnam’s, Ho Chi Minh City( Tan Son Nhat International Airport). Singapore’s Changi airport has been once again been rated as world’s best airport. It is one of the airports where time flies during a layover, it has a swimming pool within the airport terminal, slides to the boarding gates, several options for shopping & food including the lounges and not to forget about The Jewel. Immigration is done through e-gate and it was a breeze passing through it.
In the past I have taken several flights with Scoot. Being a low cost carrier, Scoot charges for each and every service such meal, seats and also water, yes water has to be purchased onboard the flight. My seat was 19A, the seats were leather but not comfortable and there was basic facility such as reclining function, tray table and seat pocket. I had pre purchased my meal while making reservation of my ticket and as usual I had selected the vegetarian option, there was only 2 options for vegetarian and I went with Aglio Olio Pasta and the other vegetarian option being Dhal with Basmati rice. I got a cake, cookies and coke along with the meal. The food taste and quality was not up to the mark when compared to Singapore Airlines, as Scoot being their subsidiary. The cake which was served was one of the best I have had.
Scoot also has the option of buying food onboard during the flight and they also do have buy onboard option called Scootalogue which has liquors, fashion jewelry and travel essentials. There is no IFE device, each passenger can connect using their personal devices to use the IFE however it didn’t work on my flight. My flight experience was smooth including take off & landing and more importantly it was on time and landed ahead of scheduled arrival time.
Despite ahead of schedule, the immigration experience at HCMC’s Tan Son Nhat International airport, Vietnam was worst, the immigration area is very much crowded and it took more than 2 hours for me in clearing the immigration although several Immigration counter were manned. HCMC’s international terminal need expansion, the newly built domestic terminal is about to be opened in the end of April or May 2025.
Overall flight experience was good.
And the rating for the flight would be as per below;
Boarding: 4/5
Seats: 3.5/5
Food: 2.5/5
IFE: 0/5
Take off & Landing : 4.5/5
