Tibet Airlines is - as far as I know - the only airline which uses 3 different writing systems/languages on its flights: standard Chinese, English and Tibetan. Voice announcements are made in Chinese and English. Safety announcements are made and displayed in the three languages. It makes this airline a very special one. Flying an A319 Neo makes the flight even more special.
This being said, the flight report itself. The check-in & safety check at Xining (Caojiapu International) Airport are fast and easy. The airport mostly welcomes China mainland flights. The only terminal wasn't crowded and we checked-in our luggage within 5 minutes.
We had time for a Burger King breakfast before heading to the gate 4. The boarding process was smooth and efficient. We didn't wait long to take-off - passing by the new terminal to be soon finished - and flying over the red cliffs, typical of Xining region.
The flight itself is why I took a window seat. We flew over the Yellow River and its red cliffs (making you believe, you are flying over Arizona), later on over the now famous Zhagana Mountain Range & endless grasslands before heading down to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport.
A snack was served along with bottled water about 40 minutes after taking-off. Nothing special but it helps refreshing the throat. The crew was nearly invisible, as they didn't have to perform anything else but safety duty. Friendly and efficient, nevertheless.
The landing at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport happened on the runway usually used for take-offs. Quite unusual, but fun to experience. Disembarking the aircraft was fast. So was the luggage delivery.
Overall, a very pleasant flight, with stunning landscapes!

Very cool to see a review on Tibet Airlines, as they’re quite rare. And ever better to see the cabin of the new A319neo, a rare aircraft, which I believe only a few Chinese airlines operate.
Thanks for sharing and welcome!
Thanks!

Hey, thanks for this review!
Didn't realize Tibet had A319neos haha. Some gorgeous views along the way! Qinghai is such an underrated province when it comes to travel/tourism, I guess most people opt to go to Xinjiang or Tibet instead.
