INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone
Usually I'm quite a big planner when it comes to organize trips
I like booking planes and hotels in advance, making itineraries and take my time to match everything
But that's not the case
The 16th June a friend of mine called me and told me he had organize a short weekend in Paris with a friend. By the way this guy was having unplanned work impediments
Since my friend didn't want to leave alone he invited me to join him
Departure date: 20th June, just 4 days after
Having no plan already and willing to make a crazy thing I immediately agree
In the following days we manage to change the name on the booking (the guy "charged" me 60 euros only)
We also changed the name on our hotel booking and got the tickets for Aerobus to the city center
The hotel, located in Le Bourget, costed me 70 euros
The bus costs 33 euros return

Leaving from BGY at 19:50 on Friday would have mean leaving my workplace in San Pellegrino between 16:30 and 17:00
At that time roads between San Pellegrino and Bergamo Airport can be kinda busy
Taking the flight back from Paris at 8:15 on Sunday impose getting the 5 AM bus to Beauvais, which may take more than one hour
The day before leaving I realized we'd have been in Paris with many big events in place: Paris Air Show (which I really wanted to attend, but I couldn't left my friend alone), Beyonce concert (happening at Stade de France in St-Denis, 5 km from our hotel) and Fête de la Musique

THE FLIGHT
The strange thing about this weekend is that me and my friend checked-in for return just waking up the day after arriving
But doesn't mean it wasn't funny
Also this time I was lucky getting a window one, in the back of the plane
My friend was luckier too, being assigned 10F

With the return flight scheduled for 8:15 in the morning our initial plan was to get the 5:00/5:15/5:30 bus from St-Denis to Beauvais, in order to arrive at the airport between 6:15 and 6:45
This would imply waking up around 4 am and take a short Uber ride from our BnB in Le Bourget
On Saturday evening we were having dinner in Oberkampf and everything around was in party-mood due to the Fête de la Musique
Bars and restaurants serving drinks on the road, small stands playing music and thousands of people dancing
Too funny not to be experienced fully
Therefore, we came to a crazy idea: stay around for the night and get the 3-am bus to Beauvais (the first one of the day)
We retrieve our backpacks just after dinner and went to Les Halles area to enjoy the party. The atmosphere was truly amazing and totally unexpected, I've never imagine I would have seen a city like Paris in such a different-than-usual way. Totally worth the night awake. And definitely to be done next year!
Around 2-am we got the RER D to St-Denis, from which a 10-minute Uber ride brought us to the bus stop
The bus left around 2:50 (it got full before scheduled departure time) and at 3:45 it dropped us at Paris Beauvais-Tille Airport
Even if it was open the airport was silent and sleepy

Our flight would be handled at Terminal 2, which contains only one restaurant and one bakery

The first flight wouldn't depart before two hours
Still 4 hours and half for our ride home

The terminal looked like a warehouse and probably is one of the shabbiest airport I've been into
Everything felt cramped and dirty, amplified by the fact people like were "camping" on the few available benches
We settled at Paul's Bakery tables, the only place with working power plugs

After a two hour nap (checking each other and with 3 alarm clock each) I got a coffee and made a walk outside to stretch my legs
Sun was raising and air was getting pleasantly warm

British Airways A380 from Johannesburg to London-Heathrow cutting the sky in half

Terminal 1 offers a couple of landside food options and a shop, and feels a bit less of a warehouse

Nice wooden A380 decorating the bar shelves

One hour before scheduled departure we made our way to the security inspection

Boarding passes were checked 3 times (the first one with turnstiles, the others by an agent)
5 out of 6 lanes were opened, but the inspection was a bit slow
A first manned visual check was made of cabin bags before they were screened in the machine
It took 20 minutes to access the small departure lounge, featuring 5 gates only

The spotting choice was limited
WizzAir A320neo bound to Cluj-Napoca-CLJ

Ryanair Boeing 737 ready to go to Treviso-TSF

WizzAir A321neo just landed from Milan-MXP

Gate E for BGY

At 7.46 (four minutes before scheduled) our plane landed from BGY

At 8:10, five minutes before scheduled departure, we're allowed onboard
Today's ride:
Ryanair Boeing 737 MAX 8 EI-IGX
First flight on the 26th March 2023 (2.2 years old at the moment of flight) and delivered to Ryanair on May 2023
It's equipped with 197 seats in full-Y configuration

Back door this time

The plane seemed full at 80-90%

Boarding was declared complete around 8:20
Doors were closed moments later
WizzAir to CLJ was getting ready to go as well

We left the stand right after it

The lack of a parallel taxiway implies long waiting to access and backtrack the runway

Lining-up on runway 30 almost half a hour later than scheduled

At 8:44 the engines went full power

And in the air

After a sharp bank pointing south-east we climb over the flat French countryside

No need to say I was tired as hell
Ten minutes into the flight I felt asleep and woke up fifty minutes later
I woke up while crossing Swiss-Italian border

Last moments on air

At 9:58, eight minutes in delay, we touched down at Bergamo "Il Caravaggio" International Airport

Vacating after a smooth braking

Welcomed in Bergamo by two couples of Ryanair and AirArabia birds

Blocking a bunch of minutes after touching down

Stairs were set in a few moments
However we had to wait 5 minutes before getting on the bus

Entering the terminal 15 minutes after touching down

Unfortunately my friend couldn't bring me home due to a commitment on the opposite road to San Pellegrino
Therefore I caught a bus to Bergamo Main Station (15 minutes)
I arrived there after 10:30 and had to wait almost one hour to get the 11:30 bus to San Pellegrino
During the work-week there's a bus every 20 minutes, on Sundays every two hours
Fortunately the bus stop is 5 minutes walking from mu house, I got there by 12:20
And spent the rest of the day sleeping :P
Thank you for the attentions
FLIGHT RADAR

Many thanks for your FR.
I do agree, BVA really needs a refurbishment.
Glad to know that your flight was on time and suitable for you. You can not expect much more from FR, I mean RYANAIR, can you?
Enjoy your flights!
Honestly I’ve always found Ryanair service quite acceptable, for this kind of trips is very good if you find affordable prices
And if you avoid to sleep as I do you don’t need a lie flat to spend the flight napping ahaha
