I do love Geneva when the sun is out! It's such a glorious airport with such glorious surroundings!

British Airways depart from Terminal 1 (at the time of writing this review - July 2025).

I had no checked baggage and had already checked-in using the British Airways app, so headed straight upstairs to security.

I had actually missed the Priority Lane (it sits off to the left from the main security channel). Just something to bare in mind if you're flying in Club Europe from GVA.

The lounges are all clumped together on the first floor. After security you take the escalator up and then follow the signs towards the back.

It's a small, quaint lounge!

photo screenshot-2025-07-07-at-162851

It was very quiet (just 5 passengers in the lounge) on the day that I visited. This makes a change from noisy lounges which are my bugbear!

The hot food options were appalling. Anaemic-looking sausages cut into bite-sized cubes (why?) and very overdone eggs, the sort that leak moisture because they've been cooked within an inch of their life, and beyond!

photo screenshot-2025-07-07-at-162922

There were stale pastries/bread, as well as yoghurts and fruit available. A really poor selection if you ask me!

I went for a Schweppes ginger ale and got on with some work. The Wi-Fi was great (speeds were around 180mbps down and 80mbps up).

I think GVA definitely wins the award for the most glamorous views!

Chocolates for the crew. I always appreciated little touches like this when I worked for BA, so I always like to pay it forward.

Today's flight is on a 24 year old A319 (G-EUPZ).

My seat for this short hop? 5F, right by the window of course!

European carriers have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to legroom in business class.

Climbing up over Lake Geneva - such a stunning view. One of my favourites (I'm not sure if you've cottoned on yet?!).

Drinks were served very quickly. Super efficient service. I opted for a Tanqueray gin and tonic. Small glass, large gin = headache!

Lunch was served and this one was a knockout. The two options were a chicken and lemon mayonnaise salad or a Greek salad with feta cheese. I went for the chicken (the last one on-board), the passenger sitting next to me was not impressed so I offered to swap, but this was rebuffed. The chicken salad had semi-sundried tomatoes, broad beans, french beans, chargrilled corn and really moist chicken, all on a bed of a really rich lemon mayonnaise. This was really a knockout dish!

On the side was a warmed olive white bread roll.

And for dessert? A raspberry and white chocolate pannacotta which was absolutely knockout! DO&CO really are my favourite caterers.

'Hi' from seat 5F!

Tailing round Heathrow in order to land, always an amazing view and it really makes you appreciate just how big this airport really is.

BA's retro painted aircraft in the BEA livery - nice to see it in person!

De-boarded on a remote stand. Always a treat!

  • Fantastic report and video once again!

It's great that BA run their own lounge in GVA but that is definitely a sad looking hot breakfast offering.

The hot food options were appalling. Anaemic-looking sausages cut into bite-sized cubes (why?) and very overdone eggs

Yuck, what is even the point of cutting into little pieces like that as it would dry it out even more under the heat lamps! I've only cut up sausage for my kid when he was a toddler 🤣

European carriers have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to legroom in business class.

Couldn't agree more! But sadly they seem to tighten the seat pitch with every refurb. I remember thinking it was absolute madness when BA put in the Pinnacle seats just over a decade ago and cut Club Europe seat pitch down from 34" to just 30"!!! Now, in 2025, 30" has become the norm across European carriers for Euro-biz! And some have even gone down as far as 29" pitch, which is horrible even for Economy. Yesterday I flew Club Europe on an A319 and had the pax from behind's knees digging in to my lower back the whole flight! Just not acceptable in Business class! But if I were to complain to BA about it, knowing them, they'd probably tell me to be thankful for the free lumbar massage 😆

However, as tight as the legroom is, I will say that the seats are comfortable (both the "old" Pinnacle and the new cabins) and BA have one of the better Euro-biz products overall as they've maintained the cocktail table between seats (except for some NEOs) and have very decent catering even on shorter flights under 2h like this. The Do&Co catering is consistently good and well-presented.

    Thanks for sharing!

    • Thanks so much for reading and watching - really appreciate it!

Totally agree with you on the lounge situation. I still can’t quite figure out the logic behind those sad little sausage cubes - like you said, unless you’re serving toddlers, why dry them out even more under heat lamps? It felt like someone had attempted “modern minimalism” on a breakfast tray and failed spectacularly.

As for Club Europe legroom - spot on. The slow erosion of seat pitch has been shocking over the years. It’s crazy to think 34” was once the norm, and now we’re expected to feel grateful for 30”… or worse. That “free lumbar massage” line made me laugh out loud - I might borrow that for the next time I fly with someone’s knees in my kidneys!

That said, I do give BA credit where it’s due - the catering on this flight really did impress, and the blocked middle seat plus cocktail table do make a difference. As I say in the video though, I always find BA so oddly-inconsistent.

Thanks again for the great comment - glad you enjoyed the report!
