This trip report is from March 2026.
This is my second trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Refer earlier trip report - Vietnam Airlines VN258 Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi
I was travelling to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Booking
I booked this flight using the Vietjet website.
Selected seat during the booking process.
Meal was included in the fare.

I completed check-in online.
Check-in process and received digital boarding pass.

On the day of travel, checked incoming aircraft information.

Arriving at the Airport
I caught train to reach airport.

Missed connection and had to wait few minutes for next service.
Before reaching airport, I have checked the flight status.

Arrived at International Airport Station.

I reached airport around 8.30am. Walking towards departure level.

Long queue formed for check-in.
I was able to skip the queue as I had booked SkyBoss ticket.
Received boarding pass.
I had a light bag for this trip.
Security and Immigration
Check-in completed, I walked towards the security check.
Sydney airport has changed the screening process. Passengers have to pass security first followed by immigration.
Security took about 10mins and immigration was quick as passengers have to pass through kiosk.
Departures
Immigration completed. Entered the departures duty free area.

I received a lounge voucher during check-in.

Not much choice in Breakfast, I took scrambled eggs and congee.

Soon it was boarding time, exiting the lounge.
Flight gate was open for boarding.

Boarding call was made for Business and SkyBoss passengers to board. There was no wait.

Crew came to take meal order after few minutes.
Crew handed water and wet wipe.
First seat after Business class. Plenty of leg space.

Waiting for boarding to complete. Cabin was clean.

Crew handed a amenity pack, which contained a blanket, head cushion.

Meal Service
Food service commenced few minutes after attaining cruising altitude. I was seating on the Starboard side and had to close window due to strong sunlight.
I had ordered shrimp noodles.
After meal, rested for the remaining flight.
I ordered a beer and snack.
Flying over the Torres Strait. Sun was on the port side and I was able to open the window.
Feeling hungry, I ordered another meal with wine and snack.

Feeling thirsty, got a red bull and snacks.
Descending in Ho Chi Minh City
Captain announced flight would commence descend and prepare cabin for arrival.
Cabin crew made announcements and checked passengers had windows shades up, seat upright, tray closed and seat belt on.

Aircraft landed on runway 25R/07L. Ho Chi Minh City Airport has two parallel runway.
Aircraft passed the new built Terminal 3 to reach parking bay.

Immigration

Immigration queue was long and took about 45mins.
I had applied for Vietnamese visa and had printed the document before the flight. Completed immigration without any issue.
Took escalator to ground level and walked towards the baggage belt.

Baggage took a long time to arrive, waited almost an hour for the bag.
Exiting the Terminal
After collecting bag, walked towards the exit.

Taxi to Hotel
After exiting the Arrivals, I didn't want hassle of waiting. I purchased a sim and also booked taxi from the next counter. I was in the taxi after few minutes on the way to hotel.
