Review of Jet2.com flight from Birmingham to Kraków in Economy

Flight LS1252, Birmingham-Krakow | 03 July 2026

Good morning from Birmingham Airport. Today I'm flying to Kraków, Poland, for a three-day trip.

My journey started with a train to Birmingham International station, before making my way through the Air-Rail Link into the airport terminal. Security was quick and straightforward, with almost no queue, and within a few minutes I was through into the departures area.

The airport was relatively busy, as usual, and I made my way over to the Jet2 departure area to wait for my gate. Once Gate 1 was announced, boarding began and we soon walked down the jetbridge to our aircraft.

Today's aircraft was Jet2's Boeing 737-800, registration G-JZHG. I found my seat, 6F, and the cabin crew welcomed passengers onboard. I was also lucky enough to end up with the only empty row on the aircraft, making the flight much more comfortable.
Once boarding was complete, we pushed back around 10 minutes behind schedule and taxied to Runway 33. We took off with a right turn, setting course for mainland Europe.
Flying over the netherlands there were a few cool sights such as their port infrastructure. 

The seats were fairly basic, with a tray table and cup holder, but one interesting feature was the lack of a traditional window blind. Jet2 has removed them on some aircraft, reportedly to reduce weight and improve fuel efficiency.
As we cruised across Europe, we passed over the Netherlands, Germany and Czechia before entering Poland. The cabin crew came through the cabin with the buy-on-board food service, drinks and duty-free trolley. During the flight I also visited the bathroom. It wasn't particularly dirty, although it did have quite a noticeable smell.

We began our descent over Czechia before continuing towards Kraków. The approach was smooth, and despite our slightly delayed departure, we landed around 15 minutes ahead of schedule.
After landing, we made our way into the terminal, where we spent around 45 minutes queueing at passport control before finally entering Poland.
