Review of Malaysia Airlines flight Singapore → Kuala Lumpur in Economy

Welcome to my 3rd FR here!

This FR will cover the short MH608 Flight from SIN to KUL.
Flying time was elapsed to be 45 mins from Gate to Gate.

Introduction

Malaysia Airlines or MH in short is Malaysia's national Airline. A recently joined Oneworld member, MH has been popular amongst OW frequent fliers for its high value fares and its ability to earn generous amounts of mileage on some of its tickets. Despite the recent tragedies, i didn't observe a very empty cabin, particularly on this short hop. This flight is codeshared with MI, SQ, WY and EY. The Flight numbers and codeshares are listed below.

This FR is dedicated to all the Crew and Pax onboard the recent tragedies, MH17 and MH370. May their souls rest in peace.

The Journey Begins

I had done online check in for the flight the night before, and went through the immigration clearance once i arrived at the airport with my Mobile Boarding Pass.

As a Oneworld Emerald of Qantas, i am entitled to the access of the MH Golden Lounge at SIN T2.

This lounge features ample seating areas with armchairs.



For guests that require a desktop to power up their portable computers, there is a high table with bar stools by the side of the lounge to do so.



Depending of time of day, Breakfast, Lunch, Tea and/or Dinner options are presented at the buffet area for the enjoyment of all lounge patrons.



A variety of Alcoholic and non Alcoholic drinks are available as well.



I just availed myself to some water from the minibar. It was interesting to see water being served on the ground in the lounge in tubs :P



Boarding

At 17:35 SIN time, The flight was called for boarding. The gate assigned for today is F59, which is at the rear end of SIN T2.

At SIN, Security is at the Gate, which is a lil of a pain. The usual formalities done, BP scanned but there was no red beep this time round. For a short flight like today's it doesn't matter much if its a J seat or Y seat.

I was seated at seat 8D on this flight. A quick photo of row 8 illustrates the standard pitch of the Economy seats on this MH B738.



And the Mandatory legroom Shot. I would guess the pitch to be 31, which is pretty standard for Economy.



After takeoff, a refreshment service was performed, and consisted of a sachet of packaged nuts and either Juice or water. I declined the Nuts service as I'm not a big fan of the snack myself.



This aircraft also featured Boeing Sky Interior, of which the mood lighting is a very welcome feature. The IFE was not switched on though and remained that way for the entire flight.



Disembarking was a painless affair, and i was into the bowels of KUL's Main terminal in no time.

Bonus - MH KUL Satellite Golden Lounge First Class Section

As i still had some time before my connecting flight, i decided to make my way to the satellite terminal where the dedicated First class lounge was situated. The lounge was very spacious, but i was there for dinner only.

The table setting was akin to a fine dining restaurant. Table service is offered and the mains were ordered from an ala carte menu (not pictured).



My main of Pan Seared Herb crusted fillet of Sea Bass with seasonal vegetables.



MH is a pretty reliable carrier, and i wouldn't hesitate to use them in my future flights.
