After a 3h00 flight Anchorage-Vancouver with Air Canada, it was time to go back to Europe, after the Alaska cruise vacation. After an overnight stay in Vancouver, the YVR-MUC flight was schedule to depart at 18h40. Arrived at YVR 2h45 before departure, I spent some time at Air Canada lounge, with a nice view over the terminal. Lounge was busy that time and I found out some cold and hot snacks.

The aircraft for the flight LH477 YVR-MUC would be the A330-300 D-AIKA, delivered to LH on 3rd March 2004, which was on time and it parked after the B747-400 left to FRA 2h30 before. On the next gate was a B767-300 of Condor to FRA and later on it would be at the same gate an A330-300 of Edelweiss Air. My seat was 4A and boarding was through 2 airbridges. At 18h30 boarding was completed and, onboard, the crew offered some pre departure drinks (champagne, water, orange juice). I had good privacy as no one was seated next to me. The estimated flight time would be 10h00.

After take-off the crew came with menus and hot towels.

About 40 min into the flight it was time for the drinks and pretzels.

Afterwards the appetizers tray came along. We had: seared pacific diver scallops; charcuterie; bresaola; capocolla and prosciutto with wild rice and apple salad; marinated feta cheese with sweet peppers. The salad was seasonal fresh salad with shaved fennel and roasted tomato presented with dressing. Several types of bread were offered along, from a basket. Shortly after it was time for the main course. There were 3 options, I choose the Pier 39 San Francisco Ciopinno shrimp and scallop, julinne vegetable mix and saffron rice. It was very well presented and tasty. For the Dessert I had: cheese: brie, old white cheddar and bleu d’auvergne with mango chutney; dulce de leche ice cream and fruit salad. At the end of the meal some chocolates were offered in a small box.

Then it would be time to try sleep and close the window shades. The seat can convert into a lie flat bed so it was very comfortable and could sleep for about 1h00 or so. The darkness outside remained for only about 1h30 and we were heading east, this time on a much more southern route than on the opposite way to Vancouver.

There were no snacks between the meals (at least I could not find them, not even on the galley) just some boxes with chocolates. Drinks were often distributed through the cabin. This A330-300 has the new IFE much more easy to navigate with lots of options so I took the time to explore it on the way back to Europe.

1h30 before landing it was time for the breakfast to be served. The local time would be then noon. It consisted of fresh orange juice; fresh fruit; genoa salami; capolla ham white and yellow cheddar and omellete with bacon and button mushrooms. It was a nice and complete second meal. Several types of bread and croissants were offered for 3 times along the service.

Landing at MUC would be at 13h41, 14 min before schedule.

A good flight with Lufthansa, very comfortable and pleasant on this A330-300.
Hi!!!!!
Thanks for sharing this flight with us
The service is pretty impressive! :-)
It looks like Lufthansa is one of the better airlines today ;-)
Thanks again!!!
For me, in business class, they have one of the best products I know, at the same level as with Turkish Airlines or Aegean Airlines or even Edelweiss Air. In economy class, Turkish Airlines is better.
