This time I want to share my flight experience with Emirates during my trip to Singapore.
First of all some general information. After deciding in December 2014 to travel to Singapore for the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Singapore in September 2015 I checked all available flight options and had finally three options to choose from. 1. Nonstop flight with Singapore Airlines (B777-300ER) 2. Via Frankfurt with Lufthansa (A380-800) 3. Via Dubai with Emirates (A380-800)
To sum it up, Emirates offered by far the cheapest fare during that time and as an Emirates Skywards member the choice was easy. Three of the four flight segments were operated by an A380-800. Only the SIN-DXB segment was scheduled to be operated by a B777-300. About a week before leaving Singapore, I checked my booking and found out, that Emirates changed the airplane for the SIN-DXB route to a B777-300ER.
Let's start with some general pictures of Munich Airport. We arrived about 3 hours before scheduled departure and had plenty of time for check in and strolling around MUC Terminal 1. Since it was the last day of the school holidays in bavaria, there were lots of passengers with their kids, who arrived back home from their holiday.
Here is a picture of the car park.
Emirates Check In counter in Terminal 1.
The queue at the online check in was much much shorter than for the normal check in. Within 5-10min our luggage was checked in and boarding passes were printed.
After that we went through the saftey checks (pretty quick) and had lots of time until boarding and departure. Flight EK49 from Dubai arrived a little bit late, about 15min, so there was absolutely no hurry and enough time to look around Terminal 1.
Qatar Airways B787-8 before her return flight to Doha.
And there was our lady for the flight to Dubai. Registration: A6-EEA Delivered : 19th December 2012
Unfortunately the aircraft was equipped with the older economy cabin with smaller displays and no usable display for the flight show on the remote.
Scheduled Departure: 03:45pm Push Back : 03:43pm Actual Departure : 03:58pm
Scheduled Arrival : 11:45pm Actual Arrival : 11:35pm Parking Position : 11:43pm
(All times are local)
Boarding pass - Luckily I was able to switch to a windows seat:
Some pictures during boarding. My seat this time in the front of the aircraft.
Seat pitch and seat width (18 inch) is quite good - no complaints here.
My two Singapore Airlines Teddy's can't wait to get home. I got them during my fifth freedom flight in April with SQ to Manchester.
Thumbs up - let's go.
Another look at Qatar's B787-8.
Etihad A340-500 before her departure back to Abu Dhabi at the evening.
Rotation of an Lufthansa A321 (I guess).
Video: Take off from Munich.
After departing from the south runway we made a sharp left turn heading south-east. Thick clouds during climb - you can see Munich Airport in the middle of the picture.
Finally after 25.000 feet and some turbulences we made it through the clouds.
Some thick clouds over Austria.

After reaching cruising altitude, I started to read a little bit until dinner was served.
Meal service began about 1.5 hours into the flight.
Here is the menu.
I chose the chicken, which was very delicious.
I forgot to take a picture of the whole hot meal. So here is one shortly before I finished it. The meat was very tender and very good.
Over the Black Sea.
Heading into the Iran - there was a thunderstorm near Urmia, Iran. It was possible to see some lightning. Meanwhile I was quite happy that the complete 4th Season of 2 Broke Girls was available on ICE.
Stairs to the upper deck in the front of the A380.
I took this picture during my visit to the lavatory - never use the one on the front right outer side. It is so small, I couldn't even stand straight in there.
Then there was something new. I flew this route already several times, but this time we got some ice creme about 2-1.5 hours before landing. Drinks were offered, too.
Inflight magazines.
We had to do some holding patterns over the Persian Gulf because of a very busy DXB.
And then finally this spectacular view. I can't get enough of it, the lights of Dubai on the coast of the Persian Gulf and the big belly monster A380 heading towards it. (sorry for the bad quality the light in the cabin was quite bad for my mobile phone cam)
Some pictures of Dubai during descent.
Video: Night time arrival at Dubai.
Finally at the airport and as always at about midnight, DXB was very very crowded.
Last but not least, thanks for reading my flight report this time.
I'm very sorry that the pictures and arrival video into Dubai are not that good. My mobile phone cam is pretty bad during night / bad light.
Nevertheless, I hope you have enjoyed my report and see you soon.
As always a very pleasant flight with Emirates. Crew was very very friendly and professional. Great food, great inflight entertainment. Everytime I use ICE, I cant believe how many movies, music and games are available - for me the best inflight system worldwide.
The only thing: DXB explodes almost. Especially around midnight. Lots of flights from Europe arrive and therefore lots of passengers have to wait for their connecting flights. When we arrived at our gate in concourse B there were only a few seats left, even at the food shops in the terminal were no seats available. But I'm not complaining, it's always an experience at Dubai International Airport and it's not surprising how many flights depart Dubai during 0-6am to almost every place worldwide.

Thanks for your comment. Indeed you are right. It was my first time on a flight with EK from MUC to DXB where they offered pasta tuna and potatoes salad. I guess EK changed that just a few months ago, because my parents were on a flight to DXB with EK in June and got salmon.

Nice flight for sure, a bit better than LX or LH.
And EK get one of the best IFE in the world.
See you
The IFEis definitely the best around, you never get bored onboard.
EK is often the cheapest way to get to Asia from Europe that's for sure.
I'm surprised LX wasn't comptetitive, they're known for offering good fares to SIN.
The meal does look good, however it seems EK has switched from a more premium salmon and potatoes salad to a pasta thuna one.
