Hi All,
Below are pix from my flight from Toronto to Cairo:
Curbside Toronto Airport

Some native Indian art work outside of the terminal

After check in, going towards the gate

Long corridor to the international gates area

A look at the transborder side for US flights

Very nice lounge like seating area

Our plane – one of the most beautiful liveries out there IMO

Very comfortable seats, great padding and one of the best economy class seats out there, you don't get tired nor get any back pains. I hope they keep their seats this comfortable and don't change them.

A very clean and nice looking cabin

Some shots from the magazine
Yianni had a concert in Cairo in the fall and this pictures shows him with Egypt Air crew. The uniform of the crew seems to have been changed and is a new design.

A very nice design on the blanket with Horus the Egyptian god of the skies

Safety video with the old crew uniform

A very great tasting lunch, beef and spaghetti. All the foods were great and tasted very good,

Moving from day to night- very beautiful

Day on the right, night on the left

A beautiful view of all of Athens

A very great tasting breakfast

Egyptian immigration card- a very nice design with Queen Nefertiti on it

A long way to immigration with some nice ads on the walls

So their amenity kits in biz class and eco class are the same... No comments on this... But glad to see OP had a nice experience with MS. Mine this month was just hell...
Aw interesting, I didn't know the amenity kits are the same in eco and biz.
Appreciated the detailed report. Spaghetti and mystery meat bring an opportunity to award a prize to whoever guesses the right cut. :)
Just for clarification purposes. Canada does not refer to its native tribes as native Indians. The correct term is Aboriginal People or First Nations if referring to the Inuits or Metis.
Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing this report. I like the Egyptair because it really stands out from most airlines.
The global impression is very positive and the seats look indeed very comfortable and with a good IFE
The catering is what you expect in economy but quantities look above what you get on some other airlines.
All all pictures flight attendants are smiling and seem very good, i only wish that their look was more professional with their hair not loose but that's a detail.
Looking at the business class cabin in a 2X3X2 layout, I would rather fly in coach, which is good, than spending my money on an outdated J product.
Thanks Skyteamchc. Yes their 777s are very comfortable. You are right. When I saw the business class in 2x3x2 combination, I thought that people are better off flying coach if its going to be that cramped or crowded in the biz cabin.
Nice report.
Nice details.
Thanks a lot !
Thank you Othman :)
Thanks for sharing this FR, it was a really fun read. It's nice to see how proud the airline is of the country's heritage.
Thanks so much Chibcha. Yes, you are right :)
Fantastic report. I've only flown Egyptair short haul, so I was wondering what their long haul product looked like. The IFE looks nicer than I would have expected.
Thanks so much Nick. Yes, their long haul 777 is great and I highly recommend it :)
Thank you for sharing this comprehensive report with us!
The cabin looks to be in good condition, it's good to hear the seats were comfortable! The IFE looks good as well.
The meals look satisfying even though the trays look rather small.
Overall it sounds like you had a good flight with MS, nice shots from the airport at Cairo!
Have a good one, see you!
Thanks so much RI 777. Yes, it was a very pleasant flight and I highly recommend Egypt Air's 777 :)
MS long haul is seldom reported and I appreciate your sharing this experience with great pics.
The Y product seems very decent. Little details like an amenity kit and metal cutlery are nice touches that make the experience of flying in the back more tolerable. The cabin looks soothing in blue and I like the details of the fabric on the seats. MS has one of the strongest visual liveries in the airline industry that associates it immediately with its host country.
Having a nice crew was the cherry on the cake.
Thanks so much Jetsetpanda. Yes, I totally agree with your points. The color of the seats were my favorite too and I love MS livery so much, one of my most favorite among all airlines :)
Great report with fantastic photos! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much Loukas :)
Thanks for sharing this rare MS longhaul FR!
I guess others have already commented on the J cabin, but the reason why I find this cabin so alarming is that the MS B77Ws are only 5 years old! This cabin has to be >10 years old, so why wasn’t a more modern cabin put in their new flagship longhaul aircraft back in 2010/2011 when these were received? Rant over.
The Y cabin looks nice, a comfortable 3-3-3. Decent seat pitch, even comes with a footrest. IFE looks standard for Y. Amenity kit in Y is always a nice touch.
As skyteamchc commented, the crew don’t look super polished in appearance, but if the service is good then who cares.
The catering looks good on MS, quantities are good for TATL flights and getting a hot breakfast is better than what most carriers offer. I find the catering to be close to what you get on Asian carriers on TPACs (that’s a compliment).
I would say I’m surprised by the overall appearance of MS in a good way, it’s better than I was expecting based on the hard-product and catering.
..that's indeed very strange not to have a much better J class installed on them.
- Incidentally, TK which has a more global presence, has not really changed their J cabin neither. As a matter of fact the layout of MS J cabin is just like TK's 2-3-2 in their 773's.
Thanks NG085. Interesting, I did not know that these planes are only 5 years old, so that's indeed very strange not to have a much better J class installed on them. As for the crew, in my opinion their look were almost par to the crew in most European carriers, but certainly they are much better looking than the crew on North American flights especially US carriers. Most US crew just come to their jobs looking like they just woke up from bed with no hair do and very minimal make up LOL that's why the MS crew does not really come to my eyes lol.
Thank you so much for posting this review! I'll be travelling economy class to Egypt in May and your review was very helpful! I'll be on a A 330, and I'm hoping that my flight will be as pleasant as your seemed to be! Thank you again for taking the time to upload all the photos; your effort was very much appreciated by this newbie international flyer!!
