We started our Journey to Japan from Berlin. Early taxi to TXL for the 07.05 flight to LHR. The BA lounge in Tegel is Sufficient but having spent some time there, I probably won't be rushing back. The flight boarded on time and we were off to LHR. Japan here we come!!

Once we were above the clouds, breakfast was served. We opted for the Vegi option as I hate the rubbery bacon you always get..yuk! We were making good time as we had a favorable tail wind..Excellent! more time in the CCR!

When we arrived, we headed for the Concord Room. Since it was only after 8am, we decided to have breakfast first then head to our reserved Cabana room (small shower/relax room) so we could relax before our flight at 12.50pm.

Breakfast was excellent..you can pretty much have anything you want..Just ask!! After breakfast we headed to our Cabana.

Just before we left the CCR, we headed to the Terrace. Great viewing area. I'd love to stay longer though!

We then headed to T5C gate 56, at 12 noon. The flight boarded quickly and after a fairly long taxi, we were off. Dinner was served about 30 mins after takeoff. I only eat a main course as I don't sleep very well on a full stomach. After dinner I put the spacious seat into relax mode and watched a movie. These are the 1st generation of the newer first seat, so the resolution of the screen wasn't very good, compared to the newer B777-300 screens. The seat though was comfy and roomy enough for this 12hr flight.

The Menu looked fantastic, but I decided just to have the beef which was very good. After dinner and a movie, I Put the seat into bed mode and forced myself to sleep. Unfortunately, the crew weren't able to control the cabin temp very well. It was either too hot or too cold. I was happy with cold, but hey? They played about with it for about 20 mins, and eventually gave up leaving the cabin really warm.

When breakfast was served..I was all over it. Since I like to eat light before I sleep..I'm always really hungry when I wake. Breakfast was very good. Maybe the best Breakfast I've ever had on a flight. For those with sharp eyes, I ditched the bacon..i know..weird!lol

I managed to get a shot of Mt Fuji on our way into NRT. We landed on time, and we were through passport control and customs in record time.
Hi Bigjim and thanks for sharing this flight experience.

The Cabana sure seems like a really nice feature to the lounge.
Just before we left the CCR, we headed to the Terrace. Great viewing area. I'd love to stay longer though!
-Excellent view there. It's like a wide screen TV for avgeeks! I agree, I would lose time sitting there and sipping champagne.
These are the 1st generation of the newer first seat...
-Smart looking cabin and seemingly well designed. I appreciate the BA aesthetic.
The Menu looked fantastic, but I decided just to have the beef which was very good.
-I'm glad the beef was to your liking, it can be so easily mishandled on an airplane.
Breakfast was very good. Maybe the best Breakfast I've ever had on a flight.
-It's hard to find fault with a bountiful English breakfast, in my view!
Thank you again for sharing and happy flying.
Thank^'s for the report.
The IFE is something they really must refresh on those 747-4 First Suites.
The Cabanas look refreshed and with a new TV screen. Thank's BA for this little improvements.
Temperature in a cabin is always a no brainer... They should definitely go for colder and give more sheets to persons who want warmer temperature... Never know why they always put the temperature so warm in F.
Waiting for the way back since the day flight will certainly be more exciting :)
