It is time to back to Hong Kong, it is really want to stay at Bangkok.
We left the hotel around 11am, the counter for check-in will open at
12:05 pm.
We went to W aisle for check-in.

They start for check-in of KQ860


Due to the technical problem, the flight KQ860 will delay for 12hrs 30 mins. Kenya
Airways will provide the hotels room and the food. Also, the shuttle to hotel and
airport will provide too. It seems nice that we can stay at BKK for 1/2 day.

The room of Avani Atrium Bangkok, the hotel is in the urban area.


We enjoyed the Thai food in the shopping mall.

The buffet dinner which provided by the hotel.





We found our plane in FIDS.

Is time to Hong Kong.

We onboard 5Y-KZG, is the newest 787 of KQ. This is the Business Class.

The IFE system was breakdown.

The meal service start.

The chicken with potato, the meal is delicious and hot enough. Especially the sauce.
You can see the salad was removed due to the hygiene factor.

The curry fish rice, the taste is quite similar with the curry chicken rice in KQ861.
Both meal are tasty and hot enough.

The dessert is Chocolate mousse with strawberry sauce, it too sweet for me.

YOU LUCKY GUY!!! Something similar happened to me back in 2004 when I stayed for a whole day in Rio because of a technical problem of the plane that was taking me to Madrid. But (the now defunct) Varig was not as considerate as Kenya Airways. We were kept for long hours at the airport with no information until some passengers almost started a revolt!
They gave you a written apology and clear info about their contingency arrangements!! I liked Kenya Airways after reading some reports here, but now I'm starting to admire them!!

Yes, it really lucky that I can stay at the hotel due to the delay. Their information is clear and it can let you feel claim.
I really like the arrangement of this delay, Kenya Airways look pretty nice in that case.

Yes disruptions can happen, the way KQ dealt with the issue proves they care about the customers. Too bad for your the delay last only half a day as the hotel looks comfortable... ;-)
3:35 am is a bit harsch but no choice... actually i'm pretty surprised by what u got served onbard, dinner instead of breakfast. Anyway it's very tempting.
Were the first row seats already taken as you sat on 15A?

It let me feel KQ is the pride of Africa. Also, the hotel is better than I stayed before. It is really surprise I can enjoy half day more with my mum.

Anyway it's very tempting. => I afraid that they will provide light snack instead of dinner. However, the late dinner is really nice but lack of the salad due to the hygiene problem. It is nice that they provide the meal after 20 mins takeoff.
Were the first row seats already taken as you sat on 15A? => Yes, the row 11 had been sat by other passengers.
