So after me and my friend left the Isle of Man airport we went ahead and spotted most of the day after experiencing the on-airport museum.
We spent a good 2 hours in nearby Castletown. Not that busy as it was before the holiday season and things were winding down for the evening.

After catching some notable traffic (pictured bellow) we went into the airport Terminal. we were a good 3 hours ahead of our flight's departure. It meant we got through security pretty quickly as we were avoiding the peak time rush of people catching the evening flights to Liverpool, Manchester, London City and Belfast.

Sitting air side and getting pictures of the arriving, departing and parked up aircraft, we found out our flight was late leaving LGW by a good half hour. The delay on us for getting back was only 20 minutes. So we were to leave IoM at 2105 instead of 2045. Not a huge deal. But one thing made it slightly better…

My first flight on an A319 (and my second easyjet flight) would be operated by easyJet A319 G-EZWI which was in the Milan-Rome livery. The aircraft arrived while there was enough light to get a decent photograph of it from the Terminal building. The que of people made me and my friend assume it would be a nearly full house.

We boarded the flight via stairs (rather than the horrid jetways) walking into the A319, I got some nice external shots as we boarded.

Inside the aircraft, I noticed the seats were the old style easyJet seating (my CGN flight was the new seats).

I sat in Row 12, so I was in-front of the wing, but still over the engine, so I could take pictures as we flew home of something more than just sky.

Our flight pushed back around 21:00pm and after a short taxi and then a two minute hold on the runway threshold. We were airborne and London bound!!!

The flight was being pushed by a tailwind, so we made up some time. As the flight lasted a good 45 mintues, I managed to have time to enjoy a box of popcorn with a can of coke.

As the day fell and night rose. I got some decent shots of the wing of our A319 as it rocketed through the dusk.

As we neared London we went over the North or London and flew in a decent over the East end (and over my mate's house) before flying South of London Gatwick and banking around to fly the final approach into the airport. I got this blurry shot of us over London…

We landed at LGW in the pitch black of the night. Because of our delay, we had to park at the South Terminal. I got some pictures of the flight deck as we departed and of the aircraft.

Two buses met us at the rear of the aircraft and we were given a roughly 5 minutes bus ride from the South Terminal to the domestic arrivals section at the North Terminal. After going through the baggage claim and the Duty Free area, me and my mate met my dad and we drove back to my home in Burnham.

I noticed on the way how the North Terminal arrivals were all covered and patched up ready for refurbishment and decorating. I hadn't seen this in February 2016 or in August 2014, so I assumed they only just finished the final touches on the recently revamped South Terminal and that it was next.

Conclusion

easyJet- Nicely cheap n cheerful, happy to fly them again (I am in July 2016). Was nice of them to send a special livery for my first A319 flight.

LGW- Great and efficient at dealing with the change in Terminal parking for our jet. Nice airport, just don't ever wait for hold luggage here.

IOM- Quiet airport, not to bother about me and my friend taking pictures of aircraft (and sneaky Terminal shots), love being in an airport that gets quite deserted.
Will happily fly here again.
