This is the second leg of my outward journey to Amsterdam with my family
That's the itinerary
12nd August Rome-Fiumicino FCO - Venice VCE-Marco Polo (here)
12nd August Venice-Marco Polo VCE - Amsterdam-Schiphol AMS (you are here)
19th August Amsterdam-Schiphol AMS - Rome-Fiumicino FCO (here)
After desembarking in Venice and passing through BP check we reached the departure lounge
Venice Airport Terminal is very nice and pleasant
Its design made by wood, glass and bricks is inspired by old Venetian shipyards
A plane hanged over gate holdrooms

The departure lounge is very bright and full of good shops

It was reported that our flight would have had a 15-minute delay
Our gate was number 15
Most of the flights were for Italian and European destinations however VCE also handles flight to USA, UAE and Qatar (QR flight for Doha could be seen on the right)

Waiting area close to passport control
The terminal seemed to be equipped with "flexible gates" to allow both Schenghen and non-Schenghen flights

Our gate

Not very easy to spot our plane

We boarded with a delay of 15 minutes
Unfortunately my family and I had only central and aisle seats
KL seats are very comfortable and the pitch is very good
Taking off in front of a EZY A320 with sharklets

And in the air

I felt asleep and I was woken up by dad during the descent over Dutch fields

21th Century Dutch Windmills

Later I discovered we landed on RWY 18C/36C, also called Zwanenburgbaan

We were parked at D-Pier, which is equipped to handle non-Schneghen operations on the lower floor and Schenghen operations on the upper floor
Last (bad) view of the plane

Going to the Baggage Hall

No need to say who's the boss :D

KQ DreamLiner, and KL heavies and 737 in the foreground

The panorama terrace
I would have gone there before the return flight

Everything I read about the cozyness of this airport seemed true

The baggage hall

After taking our baggage we went landside to take Schiphol Train

The public shopping area called "Schiphol Plaza"

We took the train from the underground station and in 20 minutes we were in the city center

THE END
