Hi, i would like to share to you my first flight experience with SQ when we visit my sister in UAE. From Manila to Dubai, we were on flight with Cebu Pacific, unfortunately i don't have much photo during the flight so no FR for that segment.

Singapore Airlines used Terminal 1 in Dubai International Airport. Found it small and simple, with e very minimal design with low ceiling on check-in counters, and few selections of shop.

We arrived 3 hours before my departure and headed immediately to the check-in counter and surprise that there is already long queue. There are separate counters for First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy passengers as well as web check-in counter. There is no Queue on Web Check counter, so i immediately did web checking trough my phone, when im done, i straight away went to the empty counter and within few minutes my bag is tagged and got my boarding pass.

Then i headed for immigration clearance, it was a peak hour, with a long queue for immigration and few counters were open, i cleared the immigration about 45minutes, but the security checks went fast and smoothly, then using airport train, passengers were transfer to a big duty free shops then the waiting area/ boarding gates. On the second level mostly restaurant and lounges. (sorry no photos)

Boarding began 40 minutes after the scheduled time for boarding. Priority boarding was made, first with the First Class passenger, followed by business class, so on and so forth and last the economy class.
the new economy class seat of SQ, pillow and blanket were already place on each seat. Im impress that pillow is quite big and uses good quality of sheets, blanket is ok. Seat is very comfortable, pitch is good for the 6-7 hours of flight. It was a full economy flight, i just learnt from my seat mate that they were bump-off from an Emirates flight a day before this. and they are number of them were transferred to SQ.

i explore the IFE, touch screen is very responsive and quite big with anti-glare and privacy screen. There are wide selections of Movies, Music, Magazine, Concerts and even games.

still on ground, SIA Ladies starts giving oshibori, i like the jasmin smell on the towel.

photo img_7956

Amenety kits and earphones were distributed. Inside are a pair of socks and Tooth brush and toothpaste.

after 40 mins from scheduled departure, we are now bound for Singapore… i would recommend getting a A window seat as you could see Dubai's birds eyeview. Hope you can see the Burj Khalifa.

i'm impress that even economy have menu cards. i like the japannese-sakura feels of their menu's cover.

After the seatbelf signs were off. Crew starts their service, they start with a pack of peanut and beverage, i chose the famous Singapore Sling. Gin is too strong for my liking.

photo img_7984

They serve the passenger first who has special diet and who booked for their meals and for me, i opt for beef… beef is tender and tasty, though it has too much of the sauce, rice has generous portion, bread was warm and of course ice cream… i saw my seatmate choose Chicken, it seem like they enjoying their meal as the chicken portion is big and moist and tender.

After the meal, they immediately clear the trays and dimmed the cabin and turn on the mood lighting, and total darkness afterward. and i slept for a solid 3 hours.

1.5 hours before arrival to Singapore, lights were on. Another round of oshibori is given out. though DXB-SIN really dont have any refreshment (according to the menu) they still offer either Muffin or Cinnamon Roll.
the view from my window…

the glimpse of Singapore…

Even we left Dubai quite behind schedule, we are only 4 minutes late.
after we disembark, we immediately rush for immigration clearance and to the luggage carousel, actually there is no need to rush as there are no queues and cleared in no time.
I really love SIngapore Changi Airport, its a lovely way to end your holiday with this view, i can stare this all day long… like a oasis in the middle of the desert of UAE with a waterfall as backdrop… its like paradise

Conclusion

I would say that my first SQ experience was above average compared to other airline.
seat is comfortable with decent recline.
I felt that crews were a little bit fast and robotic, they do smile but i don't feel the sincerity. it seems like they want to get their routine done.
meal is good, if we had a proper breakfast makes my experience better.
