Introduction
Arriving in Abu Dhabi early in the morning from Sydney.
Trip report below:

I had breakfast at the airport before heading out to the city.

Bus Trip
I originally planned to take Etihad bus to Dubai, had dropped that idea after calculating travel time.
I had searched information regarding transport, decided to take a bus no A1 to the city. I missed the 8.10 bus to city as I didn't have the smart card. By the time, I returned the bus had left.
The smart card kiosk was confusing for first timers. Helped 2 other guys to buy a ticket, once i understood the process. The fare was approx AED 3 approx each way.

One of the guys was a Spanish fellow returning from Gold Coast after attending acting course. He was an stunt actor in Spanish movie, had his company in the bus till we disembarked.
Abu Dhabi A1 Bus Route Ride
After reaching, he went to the corniche and I went to the Abu Dhabi mall. Shops hadn't opened as it was still 9.30 a,m. I went looking for falafeel sandwich. I didn't get what I was after. Below is the picture

After some walking around the mall for sometime, I checked the return bus time and took the bus back to airport.

Departure
On returning to the airport, departure was by terminal 1. Passed the immigration and then security. I had arrived at the airport at 11a.m for a 2p.m departure.
Walked around the terminal, passed the duty free shops.

I was tired after the long flight and the walking in the hot sun. After spending sometime in terminal duty free, headed for the gate.

I spent some time charging my phone and made a few calls using the free wifi in the terminal.
After buying some drinks from duty free headed for the gate. On arriving the gate, passport and boarding card was checked.

It was a full flight. Waited at the gate for about 1 hr, boarding was called by zone numbers around 1.45pm.

Queue was long, It took about 15-20 mins to board the aircraft.

Soon everyone was settled, my seatmate was a student from New Jersey returning during break. Next to him, parent of a U.S-based student returning after visit.

Pushback was 15 mins past 2 p.m. Taxi was long, departure was from runway 31R.

Waited for two Etihad A320's to depart before rolling to active runway.

Inflight service
Inflight service on this flight was far better. The stewardess was polite and communicative. I had ordered HMNL, I didnt receive any special meal.
Option was chicken, fish or vegs.

I chose fish. Which was the right decision, food was good. Washed it down with white wine.

After lunch, trays were removed. Cruising over the Arabian Sea.

Was feeling tired, didn't watch any entertainment. Switched on the flight information.

Soon time passed, flight was close to Mumbai.

Overflying Mumbai heading in the eastern direction. After series of turns lined West to land on Runway 27.

Taxi to Terminal 2
Arrival
Arrived at the gate vacated by Emirates A380. Seating in forward section. two gates were in operation. Didn't take long to disembark. Walk to gate was long.
Walk to Immigration
Immigration was quick as there were not many flight. Baggage took about 20mins to arrive. Passed customs. Headed out to meet family.
