Airport
If you are transfering in ADD, you should expect, even as a premium customer, horrible experience in Addis Ababa Bole Int Airport. Most planes are served by buses, escalators do not work, the air is hot and with no oxygen. Queues in premium lines are long with only one security check working, I find better to go through economy class.
Gates were multiple times changed, information was chaotic, boarding began at the time of departure.
The lounge is horrible so, I do not recommend visiting.
All in all really bad experience, but everything changed when the aircraft was boarded.
Flight
We finally, on our last leg out of 4, got a new cabin! It feels much better than the older one. It is much more private, spacious with a lot of space to store all the items, IFE screen nice with great entertainment and new flight path (in the older cabin the entertainment is really limited). Lie flat seats for this night flight were also great. But again, dirty requiring to clean it myself.
The load was about 40% in J.
Welcome drink served.
Although we had only a few hours of sleep, we went for full dinner and breakfast to experience it. I have to admit that on this flight everything was much better than on the others. Food really tasty, Bottega Gold always in our glasses. Nice dinner.
Breakfast served to passengers who wanted. Again really great, sweet and salty option available.
This flight to Oslo is held via Stockholm.
Verdict
Ethiopian Airlines on this flight finally showed they are able to offer a quality product which may think you about buying a ticket with them again. Food tasty, crew shy and polite as usual. The only thing is the airport which is really bad. If all flights with Ethiopian were like this one, I would probably fly them again!
It seems ET changed their hard product before the seats were the classic forward facing ones found on LOT etc.
