I had to make an unexpected trip to my hometown in Ecuador due to a family reunion. I flew from Cali to Bogotà with no problems despite the pilot's strike and then to Quito on Oct the 13th. The Next day I flew on Avianca as well from Quito to Guayaquil and finally I came back to Cali using the direct Guayaquil Cali flight on the 15th.
This is the report of my Bogota - Quito Leg.
I arrived from Cali to El Dorado at 4pm aproximately and once I checked my flight was on time I went straight to passport and security control.
Passport control
They are building a new duty free area as the former one la Riviera was closed due to some legal problems I think (would anyone in Colombia correct me please if this was not the reason)
Pictures of the International Pier, there you can see an Interjet A320, an Iberia 340 getting ready for its flight to MAD, an Avianca 330, and ATR 72. Still pretty low traffic at BOG's at that time.
Off the the Lounge
It was boarding time so I went to gate 24, a Latam's 767 was right next to our plane.
We were greeted by a very cheerful Ecuadorian crew and sparkling wine, water or juice was offered and very soon after a short take off we were up in the air bound to Quito. The flight time 1:10 min.
After a while sings were turned off and the purser came to the cabin to introduce himself to each of us, then he went to the Galley and a few minutes later the trolley was in the aisle. Options for dinner were rice with chicken or beef. I chose the rice and it was excellent, the tray came with salad and a dessert.
Then coffee was served and we were soon starting our descent to Quito
Smooth landing and off to immigration which was really quick
And Welcome to Ecuador. I only had a carry on so I was out of the terminal very quick and soon was picked by the Wyndham Airport Hotel shutle. This hotel is good choice if you have an early departure out of Quito, it is a couple of minutes away from the airport.
Thank you very much for reading and I hope you like this report of a very short flight, unfortunately those are the flights I take all the time… no longer flights to report yet.
