Hello and Welcome to Trip Report 24
KUL-SIN: "Singapore Layover" Jetstar Asia |Kuala Lumpur to Singapore | Airbus A320-200 (3K684 | 9V-JSM) - 15th January 2018
Introduction
Here's Part 4 of 5: Apologies for the long overdue
The Penultimate flight for this series of 5. Flying on Qantas's Low Cost Subsidiary yet again from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Singapore- Changi on their classy Airbus A320-200's!
This being the airline that made me change my perception of one of one of the most flown narrow bodied aircraft!
Prior to booking this sector, I was told that Jetstar had a habit of mishandling and loosing baggage including baggage locks and zips being tampered with by Jetstars ground crew. With videos of the said allegations appearing on Social Media too.
However since my experience on my previous flight on 3K from Jakarta to Singapore was one of the best, i decided to give Jetstar Asia "the befit of the doubt"
They offered fares comparatively lower than the other carriers that operated this route, of which I considered Scoot, Singapore Airlines very own LCC , My Other option being AirAsia
Even though AirAsia was available for a fraction cheaper than Jetstar Asia, I didn't want to fly yet another sector on the Malaysian LCC and thereby booked this flight even though there were potential risks involved.
1. CMB- KUL ( Sri Lankan Airlines- UL314)
2. KUL-PEN (AirAsia- AK6112)
3.PEN-KUL (AirAsia- AK6131)
4. KUL-SIN (Jetstar Asia- 3K684) You are here!
5. SIN-CMB (Sri Lankan Airlines- UL303)

Pre-flight
With this being my 4th Sector on this series, and the cheapest option to get back home to Colombo (CMB) from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) being via. Singapore (SIN), I was more than satisfied to be able to fly on another sector with Jet Star Asia again.
A journey that I was very much accustomed to followed thereafter, taking the cheapest but yet one of the most reliable modes of transport from KLCC to KLIA2, utilizing the return ticket purchased the at the KLIA2 Counters after our arrival from Penang (PEN) a day earlier. Return tickets are priced at RM 18, being RM 2 less than the regular one-way fare
An Uneventful commute with moderate traffic on the way, took us to KLIA2 with plenty of time in hand.
Breakfast followed thereafter, and I decided to "go-local" opting for Marry Brown (Malaysias Localized version of KFC) as I did hear in that past that they did pretty decent breakfast
A Combo cost somewhat similar of a regular breakfast meal at McDonnalds back home in Colombo, but this came with an Oversize cup of Coffee, "Hot Touch" Chicken and Rice, definitely something not on Breakfast Menus available at fast food chains in SriLanka!
However, Marry Brown was sadly a disappointment and nothing compared to when Marry Brown had its own franchise in Colombo which ceased Opps almost a decade ago.
Departure
After a disappointing breakfast, It was on to some spotting
With The AirAsia family dominating the LCC Terminal (KLIA2), its base for other carriers including Jet Star, Scoot,Cebu Pacific etc
With the Check-in counters being rather empty, I decided to go ahead and check in before crowds started to build up with formalities being completed within minutes!
Overall a Pleasant experience with those at the counter being efficient and courteous. Well Done Team!
On to more spotting and Immigration and Security who weren't fussy like those at Penang and let us take Water Bottles and Coffee to the Ariside
9V-JSM was my conveyance to SIN (Yes. Another A320!) with my travel buddy and I parting ways since he was flying to Jakarta (CGK) on Indonesia AirAsia

In-flight
Jet Star Asia never failed in terms of Punctuality, a full flight leaving KUL behind, onward to SIN
Takeoff!
Cabin/Seat/IFE was impressive as always! A modern,Comfortbale 3-3 Layout in contrast to the older layout on AirAsia , probably the best seat pitch on any A320 I've been on and yet another reason to fly Jet Star Asia. The Cabin was kept immaculately clean even with a narrow turn around time which reflected on the high levels of service provided by this LCC.
A selection of Magazines were provided in the seat pockets. A good read as always
When at Cruising altitude, Muffins and Juice were distributed to those who pre-booked their breakfast snack. No food for me this time around mainly because of the duration of the flight and also due to the fact that BOB on Jet Star Asia was pretty pricey when compared to other LCC's. Prices for Seat Selection and even water being priced on the higher side
Love this view!
With absolutely nothing more to report on,I began panning my stopover in Singapore, Lunch etc.
Descent began thereafter and I was back in Singapore!
Scoot and Singapore Airlines, two carriers on my Bucket List
The Flight Deck
Managed to collect my bags fairly quickly and make my way to T3 which was were my net outbound flight was from
With this being sold as a one way ticket, I was left to Self-Transfer my baggage on next flight at Singapore as it couldn't be interlined to CMB, which was alright since I had plenty of time
That's a wrap! 4 of 5 Complete!
