After spending few days in Egypt visiting a lot of Cairo sights, it is now time to go back to my home Lebanon on our national carrier Middle East Airlines - MEA
A view from my hotel room showing the Egyptian museum:
I arrived to Cairo International Airport - Terminal 2 two hours before departure. Security were rude and harsh. The departure screen showed that our flight will depart on time
Spending sometime watching airplanes, photography at this airport can get you shot by the security. However, I would risk for a snapshot of MEA's aircraft painted in "Sky Team Livery"
Pushback and take-off was on-time at 11:00 a.m. and the cabin crew announced that our flight duration will be one hour
There were a kind of sand storm in Egypt, thus giving us relatively low visibility:
After take-off cabin crew rushed with a smile to serve us brunch. And as expected when it comes to food, MEA will not disappoint you even on short sectors. We were served two wraps (one turkey and the other one was kashkaval cheese) accompanied by juice goblets, chocolate pudding, water. Tea & coffee service was available after the meal. Cabin crew were extremely friendly and helpful
Approaching and landing at Beirut was smooth.
Below is the smooth touch down of the plane at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport
Thanks for this FR.
I thought the pollution was even higher in Cairo that I thought but the sandstorm explains the dark sky.
Great service for a 1 hour flight !
Nice FR.
It would have been nice to see parts of the airport, but it is understanding that the airport maybe has a strict no-photo policy.
The catering looks very decent for such a short flight. European and American carriers should take MEA as an example.
