Hi,
Welcome to this short domestic German hop from Munich to Berlin.
I arrived at the airport on time and security was quick - also because of some special 'domestic hop' security lines just for typical business flight to German key destinations that usually just get Business travellers with small amounts of hand luggage like for day trips.
I spent ca. 30 minutes in the Lufthansa Business Lounge to which I received access because of my Silver status with Lufthansa.
The lounge still was rather quiet and I took a nice seat in a quiet corner.
You can also see that they open a special ice cream stand later during the day - a nice feature during those hot summer days.
Also just recently Lufthansa upgraded the catering in their lounges: Choices are nicer now and the presentation is also a lot better.
There e.g. also is a nice new candy bar:
I had a nice breakfast before heading to my gate where boarding was about to start.
On the way I passed some nice counters already redesigned to the new Lufthansa CI:
I was welcomed by a rather friendly young crew and took my window seat in the back of the aircraft.
Some United action going on next to us.
We departed ca. 20 minutes late due to some baggage unloading.
Flight time was announced to be 50 minutes and we soon powered into clear sunny summer skies for a very quiet flight.
Cabin crew first distributed a small muesli snack bar from a paper basket.
Later on a trolley with a full offer of drinks followed. I opted for some tea & water.
All in all a good catering for a domestic Economy class trip of 50 minutes.
We touched down almost on time and docked at the old and cramped Berlin Tegel Terminal.

SPECIAL ADDON:
=========================
My trip back to Munich was on high speed train service ICE 'Sprinter' which takes just 4 hours for the trip and only has 3 stops along the route.
Here you have some shots of my First Class carriage which is very modern and comfortable.
First Class is a very good option and comes along with some nice service:
- Access to DB Lounge
- Small snacks (candies/cookies) are distributed free of charge several times during the trip
- Free selection of newspapers on the train
- Free WIFI
- Free onboard entertainment portal for streaming on individual device (movies, audio etc.)
- Meal & drink service at your seat (against payment; you can select your choices from the Dining Car menu)
So all in all the high speed train is a very good alternative to flying within Germany.
Thanks for this FR.
Nice and classic service on this domestic flight, though they could serve a sandwich as the flight is as long as one to CDG or LYS.
How does the ICE 1st class compare to the plane in terms of price?
I would say you can get the ICE 1st Class oneway Trip in this journey for ca. 60 Euro if you get a Special Deal Price. But of course prices can also go up to several hundreds EUR depending on demand for the specific train.
