Welcome to my second trip report and another first for this site featuring Caribbean airlines on its service from Miami to Port of Spain Trinidad with a connection to Barbados. This is also my first time travelling on Caribbean Airlines however; I have traveled on its predecessor BWIA. This is my return home after a trip to Miami via PTY on Copa. Check in was a leisurely affair at terminal J (also my first time using this terminal) after security I searched out some food however, I found the options pretty limited and the space was a bit over crowded. After getting a quick meal I headed to the gate.

On the way I spotted an AV A320 in the old livery which is one of the nicest in the skies in my opinion in the background the was a TA E190. The E190 has made it way into my top 5 favourite aircraft after my flight on CM from BGI-PTY.

Here is our ride down to POS I personally am not a fan of the 737 however any flying is good flying. Boarding began quite early 45 minutes prior to departure which I thought was odd for a narrow-body.I was welcomed aboard by a cheerful crew in the J cabin the mood was a bit less enthusiastic back in economy. It became clear why boarding began so early as it did take the full 45 minutes for passengers to get settled and the battle for overhead bin space to conclude. Wer pushed back bang on time and began our journey.

On the way to runway 8 R an LY 789 and LA 763 parked on the remote stands. Below is a video of our departure with some nice views of downtown Miami.
On the way down to POS we were treated to some nice views of the Bahamas.

In flight service began pretty soon after departure the crew here were similar to what I think is normal these days just doing their job perhaps no genuine interest or love for it. There was no option available however, it was a nice treat compared to AA where its biscoff or pretzels if they remember to serve them. The food consisted or rice, beans, corn and chicken it was pretty tasty.

In terms of IFE BW 738 was equipped with drop down screens and audio channels the airline also has online streaming through its app Caribbean view. I am not sure if it was just this flight but they were several movies that did not load viewing was restricted to a few documentaries,TV shows and 1 movie. I assume as the app was recently rolled out at that time that it may have been a glitch. However, what was available did stream pretty quickly without buffering. I dropped asleep for a bit and when I woke up we were beginning our descent into Trinidad. Below is the video of our arrival with a smooth landing which is rare in the 737.
As I was connecting onto BGI I had to use the in transit transfer this is where the airline/airport is let down. As BW uses POS as a hub the setup is not ideal in transit passengers go downstairs in the immigration section to a desk which was manned by 3 persons which was woefully inadequate luckily my layover was nearly 2 hours. After you are processed there is a single elevator to take you back up to the departure level at the time to AC in the airport was also not working so it was a bit uncomfortable. If these kinks can be sorted the experience would be good.
