Review of China Southern flight from Nanning to Xi'an in Economy

a trip to the ancient capital of china: xi'an

Xi'an: the last major historic place in China I hadn't been to yet. 

It was nice knowing that I would be going there in the summer of 2017, following a miserable cold. We were going to meet up with some friends, but ultimately my illness eliminated all chances of doing so :(

Anyway, the trip started off with an awkward encounter on the airport shuttle, where after a slight scuffle we ended up sitting 4 across in the back of a taxi.

The airport

Finally some non-Generic cardboard!

I originally thought we booked tickets onboard GX Airlines, the largest airline based out of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, but turns out we instead booked on China Southern, and as a surprise, we got one row off of Premium Economy, but on the way back we would be flying it anyway!

Another little mishap happened when I realized I forgot my SD card back at my grandparent's apartment. Oh well, guess I'll have to sneak in footage on my phone (which at the time it was not allowed to use phones on airplanes) 


Anyway, after check-in, we sat down and wolfed down a bit of breakfast before heading to security, which required a short queue.  

My mother had to arrange our rides in Xi'an, so she spent a considerable amount of time on the phone, making us one of the last to board the plane.

Boarding Commenced Surprisingly Early around 10 minutes before the scheduled time, and before you knew it, we were the last to board the aircraft

Soon enough we were off and rolling, this time On-Time for the first time in over 7 years for me!

 

Airborne

Soon after a hot meal was served with a choice between pork with rice or pork noodles, I chose the latter

 

This tasted a lot better than it looked, and this amount is quite genorous for only 2 hours!

Most of this flight I did watch the IFE and also helped someone who kept dropping a pillow in Premium on my seat

 

Arrival

We arrived to a rainy Xi'an at 10:18, soon we walk into the new-ish Terminal 3 at XIY

Soon we were to find the exit to our shuttle bus to take us to our hotel, and have a very wet day
