Hello!

Welcome back! My wife likes to do one charity half-marathon a year. This year she chose to do the flagship St. Jude race in Memphis, TN. As that is a 10+ hour drive, we decided to fly instead. Our routing will take us to ATL then on to Memphis on Delta.

Glad to have you along with us and hope you enjoy the trip!

Please excuse the briefness of the report as the flight was very short. The picture quality is also poor as well. Sorry :(

Md-90

The MD-90 is dying breed. Delta is the last user and is slated to phase the 2 dozen or so aircraft by end of 2022. This is a special occasion for me to ride this wonderful workhorse and I am grateful to know the history behind it and just how rare this bird is.

Arrival/Transfer

We landed from CAE at gate C49. My flight to MEM was leaving from B13. ATL is very easy to transfer in. The Sky Train is located in the middle of each concourse. Plenty of signs led the way as we walked from the far end of C to the middle and then down to the Sky Train.  Within a few quick moments we were upstairs in B concourse with plenty of time to spare.

The gate area had decent seating with power plugs. Gate lice do tend to block the walk ways though at ATL and this can be annoying. We boarded again in Main Cabin 1 at 7:50

Seat

The aircraft showed its age but was clean. No plugs or USB chargers on this bird. Wifi was available though. The contents of the seatback were the usual safety card, BOB, Wifi instructions and Sky Magazine.

The seats were lumpy and leg room was decent. No winged headrests were provided :(

Food/Beverage

A beverage service with Coke products and tea/coffee was offered. I took a small bottle of water as did my wife. For snacks we were offered Cheez-its or Biscoff cookies. As I took a water, I chose Cheez-its. I always take Biscoff with coffee though! If you have not tried dunking the cookies in coffee then you havnt really lived!

In-flight/Landing

The FA were lovely. Most passengers were on their way to run the St Jude race so it was really a festive atmosphere.

We pushed back on time at 8:24 and made a long, slow taxi to 8R. It's always rush hour at ATL! At 8:41 we took off towards Memphis! As we took off towards the East we were treated to wonderful views of ATL as we turned to the West.

After a short flight, we touched down on 36L at 8:44 Central Time. After a very brief taxi we parked at Gate A27.
