Hello Flight-Report readers!
A quick overview of my short trip to Chiang Mai from Don Mueang Airport. There won't be too many photos I apologize, I was distracted with a good friend of mine and completely forgot. I must say that Air Asia follows protocol to the letter, and the crew is very professional and enthusiastic.
Leaving my Hotel in Sukhumvit, I was taken by a very famous leader to the airport, looking at the picture, I'll let you guess who ;)

So as I had a 2 day trip in Chiang Mai, I didn't need my hold luggage, so lucky for me I rented a locker with Airportels in the airport for only 10$ for 3 days! Very oddly though in Heathrow, I had to pay GBP10 for three hours!
So as we were walking round the airport, I was explaining to my friend the basics of flights and how airlines work, and most importantly why Airbus is better than Boeing, sorry Boeing folks :)
Then came our aircraft to stand, preparing for our flight. It was one of the first A320s to Thai Air Asia operating our route today. Fun fact to note, this aircraft is equipped with ETOPS! I chatted with the pilots regarding this, this aircraft does fly ETOPS routes indeed with FD! I wonder which.

Priority boarding was prioritized, too bad for me and my friend we had to wait back in line as I am not a FF tier holder with Air Asia.
Leg room was fine for a 1hour flight, but I must say, they are pretty cramped compared to Easyjet and Ryanair! This is maybe due to the fact that the seats are larger and take more space as on the European LCCs, legroom is better due to the fact that seats are thinner.

As I was reading through the magazine, this caught my attention, I don't think it is very appropriate to be as direct as that?

Service came through, and as I live in Europe, I have a bigger tendency to use credit cards rather than cash, and big surprise! Air Asia doesn't accept any payment method that isn't cash! I had 100Baht, I bought a very refreshing coconut water. Only costs 80baht on board (2.75USD)! Buy that in any grocery shop in Europe, you'll be paying at least 4EUR/3.5GBP!

A little view from outside to compliment the Report :)

Green green and more green!

As we landed and deboarding was complete, I had a chat with the crew to let my friend visit the cockpit for the first time, as she has never been inside! I identified myself to the crew as AIRMAN with my ID and they were very happy to let us in. The pilots were very friendly and welcoming, and explained to her a little bit of everything. Obviously no pictures allowed inside, but it is an experience of a lifetime for her :)
Hope you enjoyed the report, stay tuned for more!
Hi Elie,
-
DMK-MLE is one of their ETOPS routes and I bet that some southern Indian and Sri Lanka may be flown on ETOPS routes too.

Thanks for reporting!
Oh this makes sense! Thanks a lot for clarifying Thomas!
