Introduction
This report continues from the Trip report: Tiger Airways TT591 Sydney - Melbourne posted in the routing section.
I had a 2 hrs transit between the flights. I waited outside the terminal building as the space inside was limited. This building was demolished and new Terminal 4 building was constructed to cater to Tiger Airways and Rex flights.
Flight check-in opened around 5.00 p.m. Flight schedule showed online time arrival. Grainy photo taken from Samsung Galaxy Note II
Check-IN and Security check
Got bag weighted on the scale before heading to check-in counter. Bags was underweight. Got my boarding pass. Before proceeding to security, handbag was checked for weight. Security was quick as I was prepared. Proceeded to the waiting area, There was limited seating space as 3 flight were waiting boarding.
Passengers were sitting on the floor as Sydney, Gold Coast and Hobart passengers waited in the small holding area.
As the flight time approached, passengers were informed of delay. Initially delay was due to incoming flight arriving late. Flight was going to be delayed by 1 hr. No additional information was provided till 7.40p.m.
Boarding
Finally boarding was called at 8p.m. Boarding pass was checked and directed to walk towards the aircraft.
Tiger Airways VH-VNQ was to operate the Melbourne to Hobart flight. Boarded the flight from the rear door as the seat was in the back. On entering the aircraft, cabin crew checked boarding card to see if passengers are on the correct flight
DeParture
Boarding was completed quickly as passengers boarded from front and rear of the aircraft
Pushback and Departure
Pushback commenced shortly after passengers had boarded. Safety demonstration was conducted manually by the crew. As this trip was in winter- evening flight had plenty of vacant seats. After pushback, aircraft taxied in front of the international terminal then Qantas domestic before lining on runway27 for departure. Flight departed Melbourne late at 20:23, arrived in Hobart at 21:21.
Inflight CabIN ServiCe and Amenities
This being a short flight across the Bass Strait. The crew started the Buy on Board Service [BOB] upon attaining cruising altitude.
I had eaten dinner early and did not buy on board. Seat pocket had inflight magazine, safety card and BOB menu. .
Being a short delayed flight, flipped through the magazine and rested
Arriving in Hobart
Soon flight deck announced descend. Flight approached Hobart without much delay. Landed smoothly.
Disembarkation
Disembarkation for this flight was from the front door. It was freezing cold, had to rush inside the terminal.
Baggage Collection
Tasmania being island , quarantine checks for fresh produce notice was everywhere. Baggage arrived within 15 mins.
Exiting Airport
After collecting bag, headed to pick the car from car rental which is located outside the terminal.
Upon stepping outside the terminal it was freezing. Provided my booking details and got the car keys.
Loaded bag, jumped in, turned on the heater and headed towards the hotel on a foggy night.
Hope you enjoyed the report.
Thanks for reading. End of trip.

Conclusion
Tiger Airways was the cheapest flight available for this trip. The flight delay of 2 hrs was a problem as the waiting area in the old Terminal 4 had limited seating space with 3 flights bunched togather due to delay and just couple of shops to browse and cafe serving drinks.
Onboard service was minimal due to short duration of flight. BOB was available, which I did not use. Entertainment was reading the inflight magazine and visualising the food in the menu card.
Hobart Airport was quick exit being a domestic flight, hardly any service was needed from deplaning to baggage collection.
