Hi,
It was warm and sunny outside when I reached Malaga Airport at this summer day around midday.
The Lufthansa Group priority check in area was empty and I was quickly checked in by a friendly female agent.
A priority line can be used by LH group Business Class guests however it turned out to be rather useless as it only helps you to skip the first general part of the queue however then you are directed to one of the normal security lanes where still ca. 10 people were queuing in front of me. So in the end security check took quite some time.
Once airside I had a short look on my Swiss Airbus coming in from Zurich and passing a Finnair Airbus headed back home to the far north of Europe. Sorry for the rather bad quality of some pictures because of the very dusty and dirty terminal windows.
Next I visited the SALA VIP lounge to which LH group premium guests have access.
The lounge is quite huge and offers different seating arrangements however in general is not very cosy and more feels like a standard canteen.
Same can be said from the food & drink selection. All has to be ordered from the staff after quite a long queue and is not nicely presented (without glasses for soft drinks etc. and the food also tastes very bland.
I just had a very small snack and quickly left this lounge again.
At least it provided some apron views in the far.
On the way to my gate I had a look at some Ryanair and Jet2fly action headed for the UK.
Boarding to this Swiss flight was already in full process when I reached the gate and actually was very chaotic without a dedicated and visible priority lane.
However at the aircraft door all changed: a very friendly cabin crew welcomed everybody on board and handed out small disinfection wipes.
The cabin was comfortable and already waiting on the seats were refreshing towelettes (with a great herbal smell) and small bottles of water.
A shot out of my window while boarding finished. In the end all 6 rows of Business Class were fully occupied.
A quick look on the Economy buy on board menu also available in my seat pocket.
The Maitre de Cabine made her friendly welcome announcement and and informed us about a flight time of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Afterwards a safety video was played on the overhead screens - always nicer compared to manual demonstrations in my opinion.
We passed some other aircraft on our way to the runway.
Once final shot of a nice private jet before we started to power down the runway.
Some final shots of Malaga and the Andalusian coastline.
We climbed to our crusing altitude and soon the cabin crew was released and closed curtains to Economy Class. The overhead screens started to show some cartoons and the airshow map during this flight.
Ca. 20 minutes into the flight the very friendly cabin crew started to roll down the trolley into the aisle. They distributed some olive taste snacks from a basket and offered drinks for aperitif. I had some Gin Tonic.
Service was very relaxed and the crew returned often to ask for refills, e.g. walking down the aisle with champagne or wine bottles. A very nice and relaxed cabin atmosphere developed.
Ca. 1 hour into the flight the trolley made its appearance again and lunch trays were distributed offering a choice between two manin courses: Chicken with potateoes or gnocchi & aspargus vegatable dish. I head the chicken which tasted great - so juicy and with nice spices. All in all the meal was excellent for a medium haul flight.
Different warm breads and crackers were offered from a basket as were more drinks and more refills again and again. I was offered two different kinds of red wines and the Swiss one I selected tasted very nice.
We had already reached France when the tray was removed and I was asked for hot drinks & digestif wishes. I opted for a nice cup of black tea and some Baileys which were all very nicely presented including some Swiss chocolate.
The flight already came to an end when we passed Lake Lausanne and started our descend into Zurich Kloten Airport.
Some pictures during the approach via Swiss landscape.
The screens whished Goodbye and we soon docked at pier A next to a nice looking Swiss A220.
Thanks for reading,
FlyAlex
Hallo Alex,
