Heading to the lounge that isn't so far away:

senator lounge terminal a
We sat close to this A321, that has no wingtip and this is a major issue :)
The early A320-100 had no wingtips, but the A321 always had.

Bretzels on offer:

Snacks:

Hot dishes:

Our selection:

The "Fleischkäse" is a traditionnal german dish. It is usually served with either mashed potatoes or spaetzles, but here with vegetables it was a bit strange :)

the flight
Shortly before boarding I went to my gate, gate A2, same as last time.

Boarding via pax bus:

And since the flight is full and its a CRJ900, no hand luggage with wheels :(

Heading to our plane:

This is my CRJ for today's ride to Basel:

The door is also the stairs and a fuselage shoot:

The welcome was friendly and smiling, the cabin begins to be an old friend to me :)

The catering comes last minute:

Already in the coach to the plane, there was a passenger that had drunk too much. I don't understand why that kind of people are allowed to be on a plane. It can cause trouble and in our case, it will cause troubles).
He has a strong alcool smell, and takes his seat in 2A, the drunk guy seems to be in business also. On the other side of the aisle, seats an HON Circle member that was brought to the plane via private transfer. The guy is pretty low profile, takes his seat and starts reading a news paper.
The drunken guy can't stow his small backpack in the racks and the hostess comes to help and ask him to seat down. He seats and stands up again, he wants his laptop. He begin to bother the guy behind him by wanting to show him a movie, pretending he's been in Malta for 6 weeks to shoot a movie. The guy listen politely but declines the offer of watching anything.
As the catering is still there, I take a picture of the sister ship next to us and pay a visit to the lavs:

The drunken guy continues to bother the passenger behind him, it's almost a joke because he can't find his laptop, that seats … on its laps. He begins to speak about how happy he is to get back home to see his wife after 6 weeks and what he plans to do with her. That was too much for the guy behind him that asks him now to stop speaking.
We then pushed back, and see this lovely MD11:

At that time it was still flying and the last one in the fleet. He'll be replaced by a 777.
The hostess are making the final cabin check and they ask the guy now to please seat down, fasten his seat belt and put the laptop in the overhead bins. He begs for a vodka first before seating. He won't got it :)
A340 before us:

ERJ 190!

As we line up, the guy stood up to take his laptop back. It was anyway too late to say something, the pilots already moved the throttles forward.

During the whole climb, the guy sings loudly and sings he wants to drink something. On such short flights, the trays are served first, but he doesn't want anything to eat, just something to drink :(

My tray without the lids:

It's betroot together with a smocked trout nem and an apricot streussel. It's really good.
I took water with it, the guy had his first beer. The crew told him that there was no hard drink on board, and they were lucky because nobody ordered it.

At that point he begins to bother the HON Circle, by asking him what he does, where he is from, what's his name … The crew comes again and ask him to stop against … a beer.

The flight only takes 25 minutes, here you can see the beer number 3 … number 2 is still in the seat pocket.

As we were descending, he started to sing loudly again.
How come this can be tolerated on board nowadays? I simply couldn't believe it.

And landed:

Of course, upon landing the guy stands up to take his backpack from the rack. This time the purser comes down the aisle, tells him to seat down and shut up otherwise she'll call the police. And it worked.
AC 789 from Toronto, freight flight only:

We parked close to this Easyjet bird:

And paxbus to the sanitary controls:

Lucky to be on this side of the window, that is only for Schengen arrivals. The other side is the non Schengen side, they have passport control and sanitary checks. We only have the sanitary one :)

Arrival hall:

Ready to take my car back home :)
