Introduction
Hola Amigos!
This FR is on my first time trying Southwest Airlines, one of the biggest airlines in the world and the US. WN was never an option in my previous trips to the US, but now it happened WN has a hub in Baltimore and I happened to be living in DC. And so the chance came to experience why so many people liked this airline.
This would also be my first time flying out of BWI.
So a lot to look forward to.
At Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport
All of three airports in the DMV (IAD, DCA and BWI) are reachable by public transport, but not in the same way.
To reach BWI from my home I had first to ride the metrorail to Union Station, and then grab the MARC, and then hop to a shuttle bus to the terminal building. Not recommended if one has too much luggage.

Since I was only bringing my carry-on, I had already checked in on my phone and just went to the Self check-in machine to print a souvenir boarding pass.
BWI seemed like a nice small airport. Not too busy, with a reasonable assortment of stores and places to buy food.

Our ride to Boston was lonely waiting for us.

WN has a very particular way to board. I don't know how are they doing now with social-distancing rules.
One is given a letter and a number and that defines where and when one can queue. Once inside the plane one choce wherever one wanted to seat.

Boarding southwest's 737-700
The cabin didn't seem too new. It had some custom details from WN (I particularly liked the message you find as soon as you board). Seats were confy enough…more than expected from an LCC and for our short hop to Boston.

Seat pocket contents. I love Dr. Pepper BTW.

Taxi and takeoff
Once boarding was completed, we were towed and we taxied across the airport to RWY 28 if I'm not wrong.

Once we took off we circled to head north…the autumn colours looked lovely with the sun setting down.

enroute to Boston
Our flight basically followed the path of the Northwest Corridor, which provided lovely views of Baltimore, Philly, NY and eventually, Boston.

Somwhere above NY we were given our drinks. For a change, I ordered Dr. Pepper

In no time we were over Boston's Metro area, this time, Providence, RI.

And so concluded my first flight with Southwest.
I got off the plane, and went on to catch the Silver Line bus that would take me to South Station and there the Red Line to my friend's place in Cambridge.
