Hi,
I arrived at Sydney Airport on a rainy afternoon.
The Check in area was rather quiet and I could use the Business Class desk being a Star Alliance Gold member. The agent was extremely polite and friendly and also some nice A380 being back promotions were running on the screens.
Security and passport checks were also rather fast and soon I was airside - the International terminal still felt somehow lonely with many shops and bars still being closed as a Covid consequence. On the way to the Lounge I did some spotting.
Close to my gate a British Airways Dreamliner was being prepared for its long way home to Europe via Singapore.
Due to Star Alliance Gold Status I had access to the Singapore Airlines Krisflyer Lounge. The entrance area is very nice.
The food area is also very nice and offers quite an impressive collection of drinks, hot and cold food.
The seating was very full when I arrived but got more and more empty closer to boarding time.
All in all the Lounge is nice but the seating rather cramped and also somehow outdated lookwise.
Here is my selection from the buffet which all was tasty.
Boarding to the Airbus 380 was soon to start and rather well organized by groups.
At the entrance covid protection kits and headsets for Economy Class were available.
A friendly crew welcomed me and even personally directed me to my seat also handing me a package of nuts to make waiting time nicer - a very nice gesture but I assume not standard protocol but only because of the specific crew member decided to do so.
The cabin feels very modern and roomy.
The seat also is comfortable with enough legroom for a comfortable daytime flight.
At the seat was a blanket and pillow. A lot of small storage compartments which is helpful. Also some modern power outlets are available.
A water bottle was also available at a somehow hidden place.
Some good quality noise cancelling headphones were also waiting at my seat.
Boarding progressed and the cabin ended up very full.
A flight Time of ca. 7 Hours 15 minutes was announced and we started our long and slow taxiing out to the runway before pouring into the skies.
We started our journey to cross the Australian continent. The cabin felt quiet and relaxed and I listened to some music.
It took rather long until finally ca. one hour into the flight meals for lunch were served. There are no printed menus analoger but you can review the menu on your digital personal device which works fine as well.
Information on the drinks is provided as well:
Unfortunately no Aperitif service was provided - SQ has stopped so during Covid times. First all pre ordered meals were served including mine. I had digitally pre reserved one of the standard main dishes - the lemon chicken one.
The meal tasted fine but I think SQ could definitely improve their Premim Economy service with nicer trays, porcelain dishes etc. like almost all competitors do. SQ basically served almost the same meal that regular Economy passengers also get.
Drinks were served some minutes later.
More drink refills were offered several times and I ended my meal with some coffee and a Baileys.
The rest of the flight passed by smoothly watching movies. Cabin crew passed by very frequently to provide drinks from a tray or small snacks.
Ca. 2 Hours out of Singapore a small snack was served with a choice between vegetarian gozleme and chicken quesadilla. I had the chicken one which was tasing ok.
Soon we landed on time and docked at Terminal 3.

Thanks for another very nice report! Interesting to see a recent long-haul SQ Premium Economy review, especially on the A380. The seat and cabin look quite nice--the only somewhat disappointing part, as you mention, is the meal service, which isn't really differentiated from Economy. Aside from that, a very nice experience.
Thanks for sharing!
