Hello! Welcome to another British Airways flight report. This trip was timed interestingly, as it happened just post my previous London trip, as I flew out for the Queens funeral proceedings, and to stand in the queue. I had to see it, as I was very fond of the Queen, god bless her soul. Without further ado, here is a little bit of info about this weekends trip:

We start today at Newark's absolutely horrific Terminal B, where we were through security in two minutes, and in the lounge four minutes later. BA's Newark Galleries Lounge is perfectly acceptable, and has a couple good breakfast options and good coffee. We had access via my OneWorld Sapphire Status. Some quick info about the flight:
Airline: British Airways Origin: Newark Airport, EWR Destination: London Heathrow, LHR Aircraft: 777-236(ER) Registration: G-YMMS Seat: 28A Class of Travel: World Traveller
You can see our 777-236ER waiting around the corner. Here's the thing, this particular 777 has BA's oldest circulating interior on the network, and was very dated. However, the aircraft afforded Rolls-Royce Trent 800 engines, so although we might've been travelling old school, we were ridin' in styyylee.
The seat sported old style flappy headrests, which were actually very comfortable to catch a couple hours of rest as we hopped across the Atlantic. The IFE screen was so small it was comical. I used for the map and only one movie: Mamma Mia.
We had a fantastic sunrise departure right off the NYC skyline! Perfect. It was an absolutely beautiful day in the air, and we motored up through the clouds and emerged to this:
This signaled the start of the meal service, and in 20 minutes, a beautiful English Breakfast was plopped right in front of me with a cup of tea.
The meal service started on this lovely, large tray table, and the meal was very nice. The potatoes were actually crispy, and the eggs, although powdered, were not half bad. The Sausages were snappy as well. Good job British!
As we cruised our way towards England, crossing under Reykjavik and steaming out over the Atlantic, we take a look at the throwback flight map from Back to the Future, and recline the seat for a nap. I used the pillow as a seat cushion in order to make the old seat comfy. Once comfortable, it's old wide stance afforded really good sleep.
WIth just above two hours to go until we graced the wet, damp, evening grounds of LHR, the pre landing snack was served. It was a hot chicken roll with some sort of mayonnaise. It wasn't that bad.
We touched down at 19:28 PM, and taxied to our gate at Terminal 5, my home. Oh wait, the home of BA I mean.
As I walk through to exit Heathrow, I want to thank you so much for reading this report, and I hope you enjoyed reading it just as much as I enjoyed flying it. Until the next report, fly safe, buckle up, and travel well!

British Airways World Traveler is a great way to cross the Atlantic, and on these short "shuttle" flights across the pond, I find that BA has always delivered one of the best products. I am a loyal Executive Club member and will be for the foreseeable future.

Quite literally a post-apocalyptic hellscape. I've seen it at its worst during the Christmas travel rush and the thought of it still makes me shudder.
BA's Newark Galleries Lounge is perfectly acceptable
Indeed it is, quite pleasant in my experience. Especially when flying Club with access to the dining room.

It's madness that some of these interiors are still around on some of the 772s! They're not 3 or 4 generations behind the latest BA cabins depending on the cabin.
which were actually very comfortable
Yep! That's the one good thing about the older seats. They were very cushy for sleeping. I fly BA multiple times a year and I haven't seen one of these cabins since 2014 thankfully! And they were ALREADY outdated 9 years ago! But I do remember them being comfy...thank goodness since the IFE is worthless haha
The meal service started on this lovely, large tray table, and the meal was very nice.
That does look quite good for Y! Can't go wrong with the English Breakfast in any cabin. Certainly more exciting than the boring quiche or omelette you get on most other carriers.
Hi! Thanks for this report on BA! Living in London, I've (surprisingly) never flown on them so it's nice to see what they're like.
I can't believe BA still flies with that interior - I bet that IFE is older than me haha. Although the masochist in me kinda wants to fly on it just to see what it's like.
I flew out for the Queens funeral proceedings, and to stand in the queue.
Glad you were able to make it. I had a friend come over during those few weeks and I've honestly never seen London like that, although there's probably gonna be similar scenes for the coronation coming up.
I couldn’t agree more, and I think that BA’s new interiors are lovely. I have booked to come over for the King’s coronation. BA again! Hoping for a better interior this time!
