Airline, aircraft, route

Airline: Ryanair is an Irish ultra-low-cost airline that was founded in 1984 by Tony Ryan. It is one of the largest and most popular budget airlines in Europe, known for its low fares and no-frills approach to air travel. The airline's headquarters is located in Dublin, Ireland.

Ryanair operates a vast network of flights across Europe and nearby destinations, offering a wide range of domestic and international routes. The company has a significant presence at numerous airports, including London Stansted Airport, Dublin Airport, Barcelona El Prat Airport, Milan Bergamo Airport, and many others.

The airline gained popularity by adopting a point-to-point business model, which means it operates direct flights between smaller airports, often avoiding major hubs to minimize costs and turnaround times. To keep fares low, Ryanair often charges extra for services that are typically included in the ticket price on other airlines, such as baggage allowance, seat selection, and in-flight meals.

Over the years, Ryanair has faced both praise and criticism for its business practices. While many travelers appreciate the affordable fares and extensive route network, others have raised concerns about customer service, additional fees, and strict baggage policies. Despite this, Ryanair has remained a dominant force in the European aviation market and continues to attract a large number of passengers.

Please note that any recent developments or changes related to Ryanair that occurred after September 2021 would not be reflected in this response.

Aircraft: The Boeing 737-800 is a popular and widely used narrow-body, short-to-medium-range commercial aircraft manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It is a member of the Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) family, which succeeded the original Boeing 737 Classic series.

Key features and specifications of the Boeing 737-800:

Capacity: The typical seating capacity of the Boeing 737-800 is around 162 to 189 passengers in a two-class configuration, although it can vary based on the specific airline's seating arrangements.

Range: The range of the Boeing 737-800 is approximately 2,935 to 3,850 nautical miles (5,435 to 7,130 kilometers), depending on the model variant and configuration. This range allows it to operate both short-haul and medium-haul routes efficiently.

Fuel Efficiency: The 737-800 is designed to be fuel-efficient, making it a popular choice for airlines seeking to reduce operating costs and environmental impact.

Cockpit and Avionics: The aircraft features an advanced digital cockpit equipped with modern avionics, including LCD displays, fly-by-wire technology, and other electronic systems to enhance flight safety and efficiency.

Performance: The Boeing 737-800 is equipped with more powerful engines compared to its predecessors, which improves its takeoff performance, climb rate, and overall capabilities.

Winglets: Many 737-800 aircraft are fitted with blended winglets at the tip of their wings. These winglets reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency, resulting in longer range and reduced operating costs.

Commonality: The 737-800 shares a high degree of commonality with other members of the Boeing 737 Next Generation family, such as the 737-700, 737-900, and various versions of the 737 MAX, making it attractive for airlines already operating other 737 models.

The Boeing 737-800 has been a popular choice for airlines worldwide, as it provides a good balance of capacity, range, and fuel efficiency, making it suitable for a wide range of routes, from short domestic flights to longer international journeys. It has been widely used by low-cost carriers, legacy airlines, and charter operators alike, contributing to its widespread presence in the global aviation industry.

Route: This route was shut down on 1st of February, 2023 due to high taxes and low income. It was a new route, started in 8th of April, 2022.

Welcome back!

After my short vacation in Nuremberg it was time to take a Ryanair flight back to Tallinn. Nuremberg has great self driving trains that take you right next to the entrance of the airport. we took one from the city centre and soon arrived to the airport.

We were a bit confused where to go, but eventually made it to the security checkpoint. It was busy there and took us about 20 minutes to get through security so sadly I couldn't spot the United Nations Learjet that was taking off.
Finding our gate was easy and we sat down. I did some planespotting and then I went to a shop near my gate and bought a Herpa snapfit 1:200 scaled Ryanair model plane.

Boarding started about 20 minutes before departure. We were on of the last to board because I filmed an Air France HOP Embraer land.
We sat down at our seats, luckily no broken armrest on this flight

TAKEOFF & CRUISING & SMALL MISHAPS

We taxied to runway 28 for departure, it went quickly as there wasn't much traffic. We took off on time and started heading towards Tallinn.

We soon reached our cruising altitude and onboard service started. But it didn't go really as planned…

We hadn't pre-ordered our meals and I don't even know if it is possible with Ryanair. I wanted to eat some fries, but cabin crew told that they were all out from the last flight from Palma de Mallorca. I just had to eat some Oreos I bought in the airport.

Second little mishap we had was that a younger member of the cabin crew accidentally gave a beer someone had ordered to my dad. This was probably the funniest part of the flight.

Legroom was okay and tray tables were big enough for us.

LANDING & TAXI

It was quite snowy when we approached runway 08 for landing. Runway 08 is my favorite runway at TLL because it's better for spotters to see touchdowns. We approached over Ülemiste Lake and Tartu highway and touched down soon with a bit bumpy Ryanair style landing.

Conclusion

Ryanair is a very good option if you wish to fly cheap, still some mishaps like mine can happen, it is still an ultra low cost carrier. But I definitely will fly on them again hopefully in the near future.

Both airports are very cozy, but in my opinion, Tallinn is still the best.

Yikes, that's not good! First time I've ever heard of Ryanair now having anything to sell, haha. And no, it's not possible to pre-order, as far as I know.

    Thanks for sharing!
