On the day of flight, we took a taxi directly from our hotel to the airport. Check-in counters were located at aisle E and there was a lot of people, so one of the airport staff was suggesting us to use the automatic check-in which might be faster. I printed out the baggage tags at the machines, and tried to check the luggage, but it wasn't successfully, because one of them was slightly over the allowance and the process was terminated. I had to go to the counter but luckily I did not require to queue from the beginning.
I received my boarding pass also for the connecting flight to Munich.
Then we passed through security check and immigration without much effort. Our gate was assigned at 30.
Our flight was also code-shared with Hong Kong Airlines.
Here was our metal to Taipei. One of the four B787-9. B-17882, delivered to EVA Air in October 2018.
Soon boarding was started at 19:03pm, which was pretty on-time.
My seat at 47A, it is located in the rear economy section.
Lufthansa A340-600 parked next to us, waiting for its flight back to Frankfurt later in the night.

At 19:24 the crew was distributing duty free catalogue. About 10 minutes later, it was announced that we would have 20 minutes delay due to cargo loading. Afterwards the crews provided some water to us.
At 19:52pm, cabin doors were closed and safety demonstration video was followed.
At 20:15pm, another announcement informing that the cargo loading was completed, but we still had to wait for our turn to takeoff, roughly 15 to 20 minutes. Eventually pushback was initiated at 20:21pm. Cabin light was turned off.
It was raining heavily while we were taxing to the runway.
At 20:45pm, we took off from runway.
About 5 minutes after takeoff, I started watching a Taiwanese drama, Goodbye Again.
About 25 minutes into the flight, I received the meal. Starting from October 2023, EVA Air is resuming the hot meal service for the Hong Kong route. A snack and a barley drink were served together on the tray.
A cup of tea after meal.
At 21:19pm, announcement from cockpit that we were flying at 41000 fleet, and we expected to land at 22:00pm, the descend into Taipei airport would be commenced in 10 minutes.
Cabin light was then turned off for landing.
Finally we landed at 21:57pm. After some minutes of taxing, we parked at gate D7. This was a rare to me, because D gates are usually used by China Airlines.
