Its the first time i am going to go to the new chennai airport terminal . As usual i took the chennai suburban train which is connected with the airport and i arrived just 40 mins before departure.
To say about the airport It looked great from the outside especially comparing with the previous terminal which was like a sunday market.But when you go near the airport you will feel something is wrong it never looked like a 2month old terminal.The waiting seats outsite the departure hall is already worned .The large Ceiling looked like they have been used for 10 years.
I made a webcheckin so i straight away went to the security and cleared the process .
Next up near the gates the carpet is filthy dirty with foods spilt over carpet and they have never cleaned it.There was so little shops inside the airport.Just 4-5 shops Even a small airport handling 3million passengers will have more shops than this.

Then we were called for boarding
Since spicejet is a budget they use bus transport their passengers.
There are 4-5 buses were readily waiting so no hassles in boarding the flight.
The flight which will be taking us to madurai is a boeing 737-800 in an all economy 180 seat configuration.
The flight was full to my surprise Our boeing was parked near spicejets premier rival indigo another LCC in india
We were 10 minutes late from the schedule and we started our journey
The first 20 minutes of the flight was extremely bumpy with some minor turbelence passing over the clouds in chennai
Then finally the bump is over and the stewardess started bringing the pay on board service.
They offered free water and since it is a short journey I didnt really buy anything on board
To say about the seat the leg room was good but the width is low but still its okay for a 1hour flight
The air hostess were cheerful so overall a good flight.
We landed 10 minutes behind schedule Slightly bumpy landing!!
Madurai airport even though its renovated doesnot use aerobridges
