INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone
After attending the first part of the State exam last July I was admitted to the second part on the 19th September
For this reason I book flights from Bergamo (where I live for work) to Pescara
Having already covered this route I decided to make this shorter report
The "obliged" choice is Ryanair from BGY
In order to have enough time get there I book the same flights of the first part
Considering I needed to get the cabin baggage too I chose the "Basic" fare with additional luggage, brining the total to 80 euros
THE FLIGHT
With the flight departing at 17.45 I decided to be at the airport one hour before
This choice was motivated by the fact PSR is a very small airport, with only 1/2 flights departing that afternoon
I left home around 16.30
At 16.50 I arrived at Pescara-Abruzzo Airport
The terminal is quite cozy in my opinion
In literaly 4 minutes I was cleared airside
Even if the plane was about to land from BGY, boarding operations had already started
Minutes after 17 the plane landed from Bergamo
Disembark took place almost immediately
15 minutes after the plane touched down we were allowed onboard
Air Malta Boeing 737-800, 9H-QDD, delivered to Ryanair in November '16 (8.0 years old)
Even if the plane seemed full I still hoped to get a window seat in exchange of my assigned one
My plans got destroyed once I discovered I'd have sit on the infamous 11B
At 17.35, ten minutes before scheduled, doors were closed
Since the aisle one was free I moved there to get more legroom
Pushback happened moments after
Mood lighting set on blue for departure
Taxiing was quick, due to the small size of the airfield
A few minutes after scheduled we started our take off run, pointing the Adriatic Sea
I spent most of the flight relaxing and playing on my phone
Both food and duty-free service were quite fast, most of the people didnt use them
At 18.30, half a hour before scheduled arrival, cabin was set for landing
We touched down at Bergamo "Il Caravaggio" Airport at 18.41, almost twenty minutes earlier
We reached the stand in no time
It took a little more to be disembarked
No doubt about the place!
Bye bye to our bird
A nice line up getting to the terminal:
Lauda Motion A320, Volotea A320 and Ryanair 737s
Welcomed in Bergamo by a wonderful sunset I was picked up by my friends at 19.15
It happened they'd found an open air festival 5 minutes from the airport
Jumping straight into a good Saturday night!
Thank you for your attention :)
Ciao Carlo, thanks for sharing this series. FR is an excellent point-to-point option when they are operating on-time (especially since BGY is such a large base for them), so as you said there is little fault the carrier since they deliver exactly what you expect. For a 1h flight, the hard seat is acceptable and the legroom is better than AZ's A320 family planes.
Thank you!
I totally agree with you, FR is a good solution to travel around the Country at a reasonable price
The quality of service is proportioned and good enough for a hour-long flight
The infamous row 11 strikes again! Not surprising to get stuck with row 11 with automatic seat assignment since people who pay avoid it. Nice that the aisle seat was empty so you could move. These newer cabins are pretty nice and I remember being surprised at how much legroom there was. More than most national carriers on short haul. Thanks for sharing!
I wasnt aware of this "fame" of row 11, was such a surprise once I got onboard ahaha
By the way the cabin itself is comfortable for a short haul flight
I was even able to put my leg on the other, nothign ever made on AZ...
Thank you :)
