Hello everyone,
As part of a weekend in Prague, I wanted to take one last time CSA Czech Airlines.
Indeed, for this FR that will allow me to become Gold, I wanted to pay tribute to this historic company which takes its bow today.
I had the opportunity to take CSA on a round trip back to Prague in 2012, but since the occasion had not reappeared.
So here is a return and final flight on CSA, on the last aircraft of the fleet.
Departure 2h before from the city center of Prague for 40 Crowns (about 1,50 €).
First, by subway:
Then, by bus, all for about 1 hour drive to the airport:
Direction T2 departure hall:
The terminal hall is very bright and looks quite modern:
The FIDS :
I will have my boarding pass printed to keep a last memory of CSA.
I would be very surprised if the counters are:
- shared SmartWings / CSA
- dedicated to a particular flight
Quick passage of the PIF to reach the AirSide zone
Duty-free duty free passage:
One of the maybe killers of CSA :
Austrian in E190 :
Sky-up and some domestic aircraft off:
B787-10 Korean Air :
Then, our A320, which arrives with 20 min delay from CDG.
It appears that the last scheduled flights from CSA are 2 A/R per day to CDG:
The departure will be announced 30 min later.
However, the landing operations will be very fast as the aircraft arrived from CDG relatively empty:
Behind our gate, CSA’s replacements with SmartWings:
Our boarding will be launched 10 minutes before our theoretical departure time.
Our neighbour, an E170 from Lot:
Fuselage shot :
Doar time :
Warm welcome by the crew.
I will be the last to board, maximum 50 PAX on board today.
My seat, 11 A:
Quite original color I find, to note, the tetière also in the colors of SmartWings and CSA.
The pitch will be good for a flight of 2h, but I find the seats surprisingly very large!
The ceiling light seems to indicate a correct age for our device:
The contents of the cover:
Still and always in SmartWings and CSA colours
The on-board magazine gives SmartWings a special place:
And for the 100 years of CSA, even if the sticker is no longer on the device:
The network CSA / SmartWings :
The fleet:
Note the absence of the number of aircraft by type
The flight is almost empty.
We will leave at the scheduled time.
Very few devices at this time on PRG.
We will line up to take off shortly after.
The sky remains when threatening him:
Take-off from the suburbs of Prague:
Then, heading for Paris, under an ever more overcast but majestic sky:
Who will fly over Germany:
To be completely clear when approaching CDG:
A BOB will be available throughout the flight, but with little success.
The approach will start above Reims:
Overview of the Parisian region:
Then, turn around over Pontoise:
Then, long approach to CDG’s North doublet:
Landing in advance at CDG under a bright sun.
It feels like Indian summer:)
Taxi to the Air France hub.
Then, head to the 2D terminal:
And, we will park on time at the 2D terminal:
Quick landing in the wake, and goodbye to our steed which will no longer be ours:(
Heading out, no luggage today.
However, last photo of CSA for me:
Thank you for reading this report
See you soon for upcoming flights
