INTRODUCTION
Hello, welcome to my third flight report. After 12 days vacation in Japan, it's time to go back.
This time, I’m going to make a transit at Taipei with China Airlines CI101.

CHECK IN
It was a rainy morning in Tokyo, some area had a heavy rain! It caused some traffic chaos.
I was arrived at Narita Airport Terminal 2 at about 12:30(GMT+9), and I turned to the check-in counter of China Airlines.
Ground service of CI at Narita was provided by Japan Airlines. Nobody was waiting and the ground staff assisted me to check in through self check-in kiosk, this process finished in a very short time.
I then passed through the security check and immigration, it didn't take so long time.

There're still some time for boarding, so I turned to the food court which opened on 2023 for a coffee

When I was enjoying my coffee, the inbound flight of my aircraft, CI100 arrived at gate 62 of NRT on 13:52(GMT+9).

BOARDING
The scheduled boarding time of CI101 was 14:00(GMT+9), however, the boarding time which printed on my boarding pass changed to 14:15(GMT+9). Finally, the boarding started on 14:45(GMT+9).
The boarding procedures were followed by passengers with children under 2 years old, or requiring special assistance. Then, Premium Business-Class passengers, Paragon Card passengers, Emerald Card passengers, SkyTeam Elite Plus members, Gold Card passengers, Corporate Flyer Service certificate holders, CTBC China Airlines Co-Branded Card holders, SkyTeam Elite members, economy class zone 2 passengers, economy class zone 1 passengers and economy class zone 3 passengers.
As my seat was on the premium economy class section, I boarded the plane followed by zone 3.
Same as my last flight to Tokyo on CI104, there are only 2 classes service between Tokyo and Taipei, no premium economy class service. China Airlines will take those premium economy class as extra comfort seats which takes extra charges.
The boarding process was so efficient, it only took about 10 minutes and the cabin doors closed at about 14:55(GMT+9)
Loading of Premium-Business class was about 40%, and the economy class loading was about 70% today.

Sit pitch of premium economy class was about 39 inches.
There’s a 12.1 inch personal TV on the middle of the seat, a USB power hub under the screen.
The flights pushed back at 15:00(GMT+9), 30 minutes behind schedule time, and take off at 15:29(GMT+9).

AVOD SYSTEM
As a long haul aircraft product, the 12.1 inch personal TV screen contains a AVOD system, lots of movies, TV programs, musics, games can be chooses. The flight information page also shows the flight map, the flight info. Also, you can see the catering menu throug the AVOD system.
The resolution of the screen was high, and it was easy to control the AVOD system.

CATERING
After take off, the cabin crew started the lunch service.
There are two choices on the meal service.
The menu today are as follows:
• Bread roll with butter
• Egg corn salad with shrimp and cherry tomato
• Salmon with Japanese seasoned rice
or
Grilled chicken teriyaki with steamed rice
• Fresh fruit with apple, orange, melon and kiwi
• Glico Mainichi biscuit (Fruit Prune & Blueberry flavour)
Beverage served afterwards, I chose passion fruit sparkling drink, the signature drink by CI in season.
I chose Salmon with Japanese seasoned rice for the main, it was awesome. The salmon tastes good and not dry, seasoned rice tastes good and feels humid. There are some Japanese pickles as side dish with slightly spicy, The whole dish tastes layered.
