Hello and welcome to the very special trip report flight home to mark the end of year 2024 and start of 2025 after my christmas vacation in changsha china and zhangjiajie
12 hours before my trip home i check on flightrader24 on which A320NEO would be flying me home on new year eve and it turn out to be B30D2 (Bravo 30 Delta 2 ) a 5 year old a320Neo

We arrived at the airport abit early which only opens 2 hours before departure at around 7 20PM the checkin counter was open and we queue up for 30 minutes to check in my suitcase and recieve my boarding pass .We bid goodbye to my tour guide who bringing around to most of the places in zhangjiajie and changsha before entering the hk ,macau and taiwan international departure. The immigration took about a minute despite no queue and only 2 flights departing at around 9 pm we queued for security for about 20 minutes by the time we go thru security its almost to boarding time and we line up to board our a320Neo

here my aircraft that will be taking me home from changsha on new year eve a 5 year old A320NEO B30D2 (Bravo 30 delta 2 ) a slightly older than a320Neo than the ride to changsha a week ago and it just arrived from changsha from yantai china and continue on to singapore As MU2045

Made in tianjin china delivered to china eastern on 28 december 2019 and entered into service 30 december 2019 (Age 5 years old) powered by 2 cfm engine

Actual flight time 4 hours and 25 minutes


we made our way down the jet bridge after queing up for boarding and walk past past the business class cabin comprising a row of 8 seats onboard and 150 seats for economy however the business class cabin has IFE screens compare to the newer A320Neo and our economy seats look different than the ride to changsha which it has recaro seats there are no personal inflight entertainment screens but a magazine and safety card holder at the front of the screen despite most inflight entertainment on narrow body aircaft uses drop down screen.

and the nice window view of seat 51L beside us is china southern A320 NEO B32FY bound for kuala lumpur malaysia which push back earlier than our a320 NEO

We also get to see the loading of most of the suitcase loading onboard the A320Neo including my suitcase


The cabin lights were dimmed and the drop down screen played the safety video of the A320NEO in mandrain chinnese followed by english version before pushing back for takeoff


we push back from the gate ontime and had a loud startup of the A320NEO before taxing to the runway and takeoff

we soon take off ontime around 9.38PM leaving changsha and year 2024 behind

Shortly after takeoff the dropdown screen were down again and showing 2 movies in one flight which is off the stage (2022) a chinnese movie follow by a christmas movie journey to the christmas star (2012) .Drinks service was carried out shortly despite there no meal service for this 4 hour flight home on new year eve and therefore decided to go for pu er tea as usual and it served with a different design cup compare to my inbound flight to changsha


caught some nice glimpse of one of the cities out of the window while enjoying the pu er tea and soon fell asleep but 2 hours later we begin our decend into changi airport runway 2L and caught a nice wing view of batam and singapore straits on new year day welcoming home after a week in changsha china



we landed around 2.03 am 3 minutes on schduled and a short taxi to gate A1 and disembark the A320Neo at gate A1 which is a short walkaway to arrival hall and thank b30D2 arriving home safely before returning to yantai china via changsha as MU2046


The arrival Immigration took about 1 minute despite no queue at the eiacs lane and completing the Singapore arrival card (SGAC) with health decleration no more than 3 days before my trip home which can be done on the ica website or ica app and using the passportless immigration clearance which only scan the face twice we collected our suitcase which is the first to arrive and out of the arrival hall within 15 minutes we had supper at mcdonalds before heading home via grab ride share overall it still the good experience to try out the a320NEO during the christmas and new year holiday and definetly try china eastern again when i get to try the comac c919 and other intresting fleet such as the A321Neo

Thanks for sharing this FR. Surprised to see no catering on this flight even with the late departure time, no explanation was given? It's actually impressive how much traffic MU operates to SIN from various airports when compared to CA/CZ/HU.
Thanks again for reading my trip report .Yes due to unknown reason there no meal service for the 4 hour ride home from changsha and that the only flight out of changsha which arrives in singapore around 2 am usually meal is served for most flights out of china especially MU however no meals was catered on my flight as expected when my tour guide mention about the return flight details and also china eastern mainly flies to sin from various airport such as 2 times daily kunming with b737800, one daily wuhan b737800 and other destination using a320Neo such as beijing daxing, hefei , xi an and yantai via changsha espically 5 daily flights from shanghai PVG with B777 300ER,A350,A330 200 and 300 series and B7879 even one flight operated by A320Neo compare to ca which only flies to beijing peking,chengdu and chongqing with b7879,A330 300 ,random narrowbodies like A320Neo,A321Neo,B737 800 with and without winglet as for CZ is mainly guangzhou and shenzhen on 737 max or a320 but slowly resume direct flight to changsha on alternate days when MU 2045/MU 2046 is not operated not sure about HU as i only focus on MU and CA flights sechdule to and from SIN especially Xiamen airlines to xiamen ,hangzhou and fuzhou it also used to fly to xian via fuzhou with a immigration clearance stop at fuzhou airport till replaced by scoot and china eastern direct flight thanks again for reading my trip report
Nice to see two new reports on the MU 32N as there aren't many out there! The cabin looks fresh and modern. There are supposed to be USB charging ports on the MU 32Ns, did you see them? Wow, crazy that there was no meal for this 4h flight! That's really weird for a full-service carrier in Asia. I see it's not a fluke as MU have flight 2045 set as a no catering flight in their schedule. How odd...21:20 isn't even that late of a departure, but it seems they don't cater most flights departing after 21:00 in any cabin. If I were in Business I would not be happy!

Thanks again for reading my trip report i have tried both configuration which is the seats found on the comac c919 and recaro seats with business class ife for business class passengers depite china eastern A320Neo mainly deploy to southeast asia destination and within mainland china as well as korea and japan . There usb charging port which can be found underneath the seat but didnt use. Yes true that there no meal service for a 4 hour flight but a drink serivce depite it depart around 2100 not sure about the business class passengers as well despite most flights to singapore departs around night time for china eastern and scoot . Thanks for the comment on my tourism bonus its quite a great place to visit every mountains in china especially based on the movies hope you can visit most mountains in china espeically the avatar mountains.
